A:Â Thanks for reaching out! Generally, a typical 50 lb bag of sand yields 0.5 cubic feet, which will cover approximately 3 square feet area for standard 2 inch depth, 6 square feet at 1 inch deep, 2 square feet at 3 inches deep, or 1.5 square feet at 4 inches deep.

There is about a 2in gap when you close the it up so water and critters can definitely get into it. I worry a little about scorpions bc of living in the desert. It was gifted to my son for Christmas so if it doesn't last very long the only money out of my pocket is the sand itself and the 1 can of waterproofing spray I used on it. The wood seems very flimsy and could probably easily crack. Idk if I would have spent my own money on this.

This came in good condition. My hubs put it together in about 2 hrs. It has held up pretty good, but did have to tighten screws a few times. The boards do not close tight so water does get in. My grandkids like it wet so that isn’t a problem. And spiders and snails crawl in through the gap so I wish it sealed shut better.

I put this sandbox together all on my own! I love that there are seats for our kiddos. She loves to sit and play in this. It is also a genius idea to have a built on cover! We close this every night and my 2.5 year old daughter is able to open this on her own! It has lasted us a summer/winter in Wyoming and still looks and functions great. Totally recommend!

As many of the reviews mentioned, for some unknown reason the cover does meet entirely in the middle- there is a good 2 inch gap- the sides simply aren’t long enough. We have let it go this summer but over the winter I suspect we will have to tarp it. Otherwise it was fairly easy to assemble and our kiddo loves it!

this sandbox has been such an amazing edition to our summer fun! I love how large it is. It fits all three of my boys with still plenty room to move around. The bench convertible cover is a plus especially during the winter! I love the natural wood color that gives any crafters options to paint it or keep it as is. I highly recommend this!
