about this item

Created in 2014 by experienced primary school teachers to support the social and emotional wellbeing of children, its classes have been successful in helping pupils overcome behavioral difficulties and barriers to learning. They engage, facilitate and encourage self-expression, creativity and relaxation. Cree and Brogden aim to support adults in nurturing the social and emotional wellbeing of children. To “be the jellyfish” is to experience a sense of calm, creativity, and wellbeing; to be in the moment to explore and express emotions safely and to recognize and be accepting of who we are. The book provides adults with the information required to teach children how to “be the jellyfish” through Jellyfish classes. The aims of the classes are to: discover, explore, express, manage, and develop. There are three chapters, six blocks, tasks, bodywork, massage, and visualization.
