Lumber Yard Beard Oil will have you smelling like you spent your day making sawdust—in a very good way. We pair together warm cedarwood notes with a subtle layer of sandalwood for a light, woodsy fragrance.
When it comes to growing a soft, healthy, tangle-free beard, few products are as essential as Beard Oil. Go ahead, invest in yourself and help your beard reach its full potential—because when your beard looks awesome, it gives you the confidence to Keep on Growing.
Your beard needs oil to be healthy, and every time you wash your face you’re stripping away some of that oil. If not replenished, you’re left with a dry, wiry, untamable beard that itches like you just rubbed your face in fresh-cut grass. Lumber Yard Beard Oil hydrates and conditions while adding a lightweight shine that reduces beard itch without that weighed-down greasy feeling.
Think you just need Beard Oil when your beard is thick and full? Apply a few drops to the skin while you’re still in the stubble phase and prepare to be amazed at how much softer (and how much less itchy) your beard grows in.
Like all Beardbrand products, Lumber Yard Beard Oil is sulfate, silicone, and paraben-free so it’s easy to wash out and doesn’t block key nutrients from getting in.

I've seen other reviews complaining about the bottle/lid. I've been using this for awhile now and haven't seen this issue at all. A little bit goes a long way. Short beards only need one or two drops. The smell is light. I might try other BeardBrand oils to see what those scents are like, but this one is perfectly fine.

I really wanted to like this beard oil, but unfortunately I can’t recommend it. something in it seems to dry my skin when I use it regularly. After using for two or three weeks, I noticed the skin around my beard just under my ears was dry and itchy. I switched to a different brand of oil and my rash eventually went away. A few months later, I went back to the Beard Brand oil since I still had half the bottle left, but I ran into the same problem: dry, itchy skin rash. It smells decent and feels good at first, but I can’t recommend prolonged use.

Hey there! We hate to hear that there's an issue with the coating on the cap coming off, and that definitely doesn't meet our own high standards for our product. We would be more than happy to get you a replacement cap that doesn't have that issue. Please contact support@beardbrand.com and we'll send you a new cap ASAP. We hope once you get a chance to use the oil, you'll love it as much as we do!

This smells like an old ashtray. I will be returning.

Hey Addy! Thanks for checking out our products at Target - we're sorry to hear that Lumber Yard wasn't to your liking. The scent is designed to be subtle with notes of Cedarwood and Sandalwood, but we do recognize that fragrance is subjective and may not be for everybody. We sincerely hope you decide to check out our other fragrances and find your perfect fit!

I wanted to try the white line of beardbrand before I stepped up to the Silver & Gold line prices. The scent smell like a lite cedar scent. It reminds me of when I had wood shop classes! The oil has a great quality and it has a new plastic cap. Worth trying for sure!

Wood shop class is the perfect way to describe Lumber Yard's fragrance. So glad you're liking it.

I have the same issue as another reviewer where the paint off the cap was coming off everywhere. can't comment much on the oil yet but it has a woodsy smell similar to a geranium essential oil.

Lid sucks

Oil is fine, scent is light. The lid is painted black and the oil makes the paint flake off every time I touch it, which is awful

Unpleasant scent

theoriginalwm - 2 years ago
Beardbrand makes an effective beard oil, but sadly this scent ruins the experience. Lumber Yard smells like a bowl of old cigarette butts to me. I gagged when I applied it to my face and realized what an awful mistake I had made by purchasing this. Beardbrand Stone Mason beard oil is better, but why can't Beardbrand just make a more neutral male scent? Their more expensive scents are equally confusing. Perhaps they should stop trying to reinvent the fragrance wheel.

Alone or With Others

BeardBrand sent me a bottle of Lumber Yard oil so I could write a review but it’s far from my first BeardBrand product. Both this and Stone Mason are low key enough to pair with a different scent but also fine to wear by themselves. BeardBrand has very high quality products and I own nearly every scent they have.

This is a good beard tamer \ softener. The smell is not what I was expecting... it smells like sawdust from pine boards. i like it because it feels natural, stops itching, and helps growth. And the smell is just right in it’s almost neutral essence.

Just bought this one a friends recommendation on this company. Not sure if it’s just me, but this does not smell like I’ve been working in a saw mill all day! Nothing better smelling then freshly milled wood, and this isn’t it. Maybe I’m missing something. Personally, I don’t like the smell at all. I’m concerned my wife is going to hate it.

Bought this In store yesterday for the 2 for 5$ gift card. First time trying this brand the jar is cheaply made with the screw on lid and the way to dispense of the oil. Your definitely going to lose oil when you try to pour it onto your hand. The lid itself has to be securely sealed so the oil doesn’t spoil. The lid feels like it needs to be twisted close to the point of almost breaking it to make sure there is a tight seal. They should maybe redesign the jar with a pump or dropper topper. The smell is just ok in my book as someone who collects cologne this does not come close in my opinion. So if your deciding on purchasing this or their more costly options on their site I would think twice.

@Newbeard4me - Thanks for picking up our products with during the promotion! To use, simply turn the bottle upside down and tap the bottom of the bottle. Then, apply the beard oil to your skin and beard. We recommend using 3-5 drops for shorter beards and 7-10 for longer beards. The scent is designed to be subtle with notes of Cedarwood and Sandalwood, but we do recognize that fragrance is subjective and may not be for everybody.

The Virginia Cedarwood scent is faint and Fades quickly but other than that it conditions the beard well. There are other brands like Duke Cannon that offer 3oz of of a similar scented beard oil, with similar base oil ingredients at a better value. For that, I cannot recommend this Beardbrand product. I would recommend Beardbrand if the same $15 price was for 2 oz of product.

Hey Charlie! It's great to hear that you found our Lumber Yard Beard Oil to be a great conditioning product for your beard. However, we hate to hear that you didn't get the value that you were expecting out of the product. We don't like speaking on other companies and their products. We do, however, want to assure you that only the best ingredients and fragrances will go into Beardbrand Beard Oil. We won't put any fillers, sulfates, silicons, or alcohols into our Beard Oil - just the best carrier oils and fragrance. We also won't put any preservatives into our Beard Oil that will make the fragrances last for days on end. All this to say, we sincerely thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts on this product. We put a lot of thought and care into what we produce, and the only way that we'll be able to grow is to get true, genuine feedback. Thank you for your words and we hope to see you as a Beardbrand customer in the future.

I absolutely love Beardbrand. Hands down the best in the beard product game. I'm a minimalist beardsman. The quality tops the competitors in the market. I was stoked to see Target carrying these beard products. Hope to see more to come with Beardbrand and Target. I'm Beardbrand for life!!

It has a pleasant scent and works very well at softening my beard. Shortly after purchasing Lumber Yard I tried their Gold Line Temple Smoke and was amazed by how much better it smelled. I'll probably use the lumber yard when I want to just soften my beard, Temple Smoke for nights out.
