Complex and cool like the profession of its namesake, Stone Mason Beard Oil is masculine and fresh. The earthy, woodsy scents of leather and sandalwood are combined with strong, powerful musk and crisp, clean air. The result is a well-balanced fragrance that reminds you success doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built stone by stone.
When it comes to growing a soft, healthy, tangle-free beard, few products are as essential as Beard Oil. Go ahead, invest in yourself and help your beard reach its full potential—because when your beard looks awesome, it gives you the confidence to Keep on Growing.
Your beard needs oil to be healthy, and every time you wash your face you’re stripping away some of that oil. If not replenished, you’re left with a dry, wiry, untamable beard that itches like you just rubbed your face in fresh-cut grass. Stone Mason Beard Oil hydrates and conditions while adding a lightweight shine that reduces beard itch without that weighed-down greasy feeling.
Think you just need Beard Oil when your beard is thick and full? Apply a few drops to the skin while you’re still in the stubble phase and prepare to be amazed at how much softer (and how much less itchy) your beard grows in.
Like all Beardbrand products, Stone Mason Beard Oil is sulfate, silicone, and paraben-free, so it’s easy to wash out and doesn’t block key nutrients from getting in.

Great product. I love all things Beardbrand. The product, the people, the goals of the company. Stone mason has a great feel and smell. Definitely a go to Beardbrand product since it is right down the street at the local Target. Get it when I need it.

There are two aspects to this review: the scent and the performance of the oil. The scent is great, and although it isn't very strong it does have a distinctive fragrance. Right away it brought visions of being in a trading post gift shop such as those you might find in Alaska or Wyoming. It combines leather with sandalwood, musk, and finishes off with a background of fresh air. Because the fragrance isn't too powerful I find it easy to combine with other scents in my grooming supplies. Another great aspect is that I find the fragrance lost almost all day, were many products wear off after a few hours.
The performance is what puts this product over the top. It is a very smooth and long lasting oil that makes your beard soft to the touch and great looking, too. I do find that I need to use a little more of Beardbrand beard oils than other companies, which makes the small size of the bottle less appealing. However, for the price of this product it is actually an amazing value.
Give the bottle a try and if you like the scent you'll find yourself wanting to stock up.
Subtle new leather scent in a very good beard oil.

This review is for Stone Mason Beard Oil. First off, the new base oil formulation feels great in beard! The scent of the Beard oil is different that the scent from the Stone Mason Utility Balm or Beard Softener. Here are this nerd's thoughts on the beard oil. For me, the beard oil initially starts out with this bitter, tart, citrus zest that I am not the biggest fan of. That initial tart citrus note is not present right away when smelling the Utility Balm and Softener. Luckily upon application, that blunt tartness fades quickly and what's left is a subtle, mellow fragrance also reminding me of a new pair of sneakers. I get new leather notes but also don't really grab sandalwood or musk as is claimed. The scent is pretty neutral to me so it would work out great if you wanted to layer up with cologne that has some crisper and brighter citrus top notes. Overall it's a pleasant scent over time of use. Keep in mind this is Beardbrand's White Line. If you want stronger, more exotic fragrances then check out and be prepared for the higher priced Gold Line from Beardbrand's website. Set your expectations accordingly.
Stone Mason's scent is not spectacular but it more pleasant scent than Lumber Yard and will be a good option if you seek a nice neutral scent. The new oil formulation feels great as well and the neutral scent would pair with other fragrances one may use as part of their grooming routine.
And hey Target, yeah I am talking to you, tell Beardbrand you want to also carry Stone Mason in Sea Salt Spray and Styling Balm!
The scent of Beardbrand Stone Mason reminds me exactly of the smell of a shoe store in an outlet mall. The leather note is just about the only scent I pick up. Sandalwood, musk, etc. are completely absent from the scent profile. Fortunately it fades within a couple of minutes which is great for cologne wearers such as myself.
In terms of its beard softening properties, it's fine, but for the same price you can get The Art of Shaving beard oil (also sold by Target) which does a superior job of softening the beard. The downside to The Art of Shaving beard oil is that its fragrance options are very strong and overly complex.
I'm not convinced that Beardbrand is the best beard oil, but it's probably the best for my particular needs, so I will likely buy it again.
