We’re old school at our house-there’s a bookshelf stereo in one room, a record player in the other. Both sound great if you’re in that specific room, but in order to hear it at an enjoyable level in the kitchen, dining room, etc. we have to blow out the neighbors. With the holidays approaching, I wanted full sound in the rooms we spent the most time. I remembered a friend had a Beats Pill + playing in the background at her daughters graduation party and being blown away that so much sound was coming from such a little speaker so I set out to investigate. I read every single review for every single competitor (including the “best” tried and true brands from back in the day), and this little power house won out every single time so I took the plunge. Initial impression: Packaged well. Quality heft in the hand. Charges quickly. SLEEK, modern and doesn’t distract from where it’s sitting. It simply tucks in and does it’s job. SOUND. The creators of the Beats Pill + have connections to Area 51 technology. They must. It shouldn’t sound as good and as full as it does for something so small. There’s no other explanation. I’ve exhausted my Spotify playlist and EVERYTHING sounds incredible. Ease of use: Open box, charge, turn on, pair with device. Done. I purchased with the intent of carrying the speaker room to room depending on where I wanted music, but found I don’t need to. It’s in the hallway (center of the house) and can be heard in each room. If I want to turn the music up, down or off, I do so on my phone and the speaker puts itself to sleep. It’s been going pretty much nonstop on one charge for over a week and it’s still going. Price: You could pay less, but it won’t be as good and you’ll end up buying this eventually anyway.

I bought this speaker over a year ago (I only bought it because it was 50% off at the time) and it worked very well. It was easy to pair w/ Bluetooth, easy to carry, and had good sound. However, 5 months ago when I got a new phone is when I started having issues w/ it. For whatever reason it will not pair with my new phone. I have been able to pair this new phone with all my other Bluetooth devices but not this speaker. At this point I’m ready to just buy a new speaker because I’m so annoyed with this one. I liked the speaker when it worked but now I’m glad I only paid half price for it because I didn’t get as much use out of it as I hoped I would. I probably will buy a different brand this time around.

This is my second Beats Pill & this new one is not even close. The sound /volume is the same as a $25 Bluetooth speaker. I’m dissapounted in Apple for this one. It’s also much heavier than the last model.
