about this item

Biological invasion has become a serious ecological and economic problem around the world that deserves special attention from both government officials and scientists. The current book focuses on invasive species problems in agriculture, forest and aquatic ecosystems, taking into account the invasive mechanism and management of the selected invasive species. The content mainly includes three key scientific areas: 1) population establishment and spreading mechanisms of the selected invasive species; 2) ecology adaptation, population growth, expansion and evolution of invasive species; and 3) impact of bio-invasion on the ecosystem structure and function at community and ecosystem levels. It is hoped that the research project will result in techniques for better management of the selected as well as other invasive species.
