I agree with Wintergirl47 above and thought the same when I read the negative reviews. My. kids LOOOOVE these. You do need to let them cook before flipping and I've also played around with the amount of water used in order to get them thinner (more water). I plop in a few dairy-free chocolate chips after pouring the batter and - YUMMMM
I have been following a paleo diet for about a year, but was unsure about this product when I purchased it. I got it on sale and thought I might as well try it. I was better than I expected, but not as good as traditional pancakes. I will probably purchase this again when I have another pancake craving.
I brought these because the store was out of the protein pancake mix. Well they taste good but trying to get it to stay together when flipping was a little hard. Also when eating it seemed to break up when trying to put the fork through it. I almost felt like I should of had a spoon instead of a fork.
We actually prefer this mix to regular pancake mix. Looked at the lower ratings, and I'm betting the one that criticized them as being mush didn't cook them long enough. You have to let them go a little longer so they pretty much bake all the way through. Have never found them grainy at all. We ran out and used a regular mix and found the cakes rubbery in comparison. The taste makes me want to use less syrup as the almond flour has a sweetness to it. Don't hesitate!
I had high hopes for these as I love the protein pancakes they make. The texture of this pancake was so gummy I had a hard time eating them. I’ll add some quest protein baking mix and an egg next time.
I try to stick to lower carb foods, but I really missed pancakes and waffles. This is a good alternative when I'm craving those foods. I use the mix mainly for waffles. I like to mix in sugar free cinnamon sugar to sweeten it a little. Also great with chia seeds and pecans mixed in for some extra texture. My aunt who is on a paleo/gluten-free/GMO-free diet loves it as well.
