A: Remove any big debris prior to using this deep cleaner on spots and stains, but yes it will suction the water and formula from the carpet or upholstery.

Q: Our church stairwell has non-slip treads on the steps. The have a cross-hatch design. Scrubbing and rinsing by hand is really tough. Would this device work? Or do you recommend another? Suction would be good.

Do not recommend. The first time I used it to clean a small stain, the water began leaking from the back and misting out. I'm not sure why this happens as it was brand new and was in the correct positioning. For this reason I do not recommend.

As many other reviews have stated across many different platforms, shortly after purchasing this product, the suction power just completely stopped working. I was exhaustive in my troubleshooting efforts from Bissell's website, as well as scouring YouTube for any additional recommendations to make my overpriced handheld vacuum work to no effect. All I found out is that a lot of people experience this issue with this product, and no one has a good answer. I then reached out to Bissell customer service. Their response was quick, but patronizing. They ignored my questions and simply continued to offer services already listed on their website. Generally, Bissell products are quality, but my experience with this handheld combined with my customer service experience has me thinking Shark or Hoover all the way.

I bout this 4 days ago and it's already lost suction. I've read the troubleshooting instructions and did exactly as stated. The Brussels turn but absolutely no suction! My carpet remains wet until air dried….completely against why I bought this machine. And didn't save the receipt so I'm stuck with it.

We have 6 inside dogs so stains are inevitable. This machine does work well to make the stain go away but the suction doesn't suck up any water so it's just leaving all the nasty behind. The battery doesn't last long at all either. I have several bissell products that I love but this one missed the mark.

Need some extra muscle with use

This works well for quick pet stains (if you put muscle into suctioning) but I don't recommend for car use due to the lack of suction. Takes quite a bit of muscle pushing divice down in order to suction to an "OK" level. The dirty solution sucked up struggles to make it to the dirty tank so I had to hold device upwards to let gravity attempt it. If you don't hold device upwards between couple of sweeps (to guide dirty solution to tank), it falls back out on to surface. Battery life on full charge only lasts through driver and passenger seat of car so this device isn't for big jobs.

I purchased the Bissell Pet Stain Eraser 2846 in November of 2020. Approximately 1 year later the battery would not charge. Bissel replaced the unit. March 2023 the 2nd Powerbrush will not charge. I called Bissell & the warranty is the original purchase date. I was told by Customer Service that it was unrealistic for me to expect a battery to last. He started talking about cell phones. So if you want to spend $100+a year this unit works well went it is operating.

This portable cleaner works great! When it works. My original cleaner's battery lasted less than a year. Would not hold a charge. As it was under warranty Bissell sent me a replacement free of charge. I now have the same problem with the replacement. Battery won't hold a charge. Now I'm out of luck since the warranty on the original cleaner expired. The worst part is I just purchased a bottle of the cleaner.

I bought one and loved it, bought 1 for my inlaws. Neither of ours will turn on. Strange they both died within a month of each other. These machines are rarely used. I'm very upset as the inlaws was a Christmas present and now it makes me look bad like I bought them cheap junk. I expect a full refund.

Lasted about 6 uses in 2 years before suction stopped. The brush is flush with the flat bottom so it would smear liquid around instead of pulling it up when it did work. Not a worthy buy for me
