The BLACK+DECKER HNVC220BCZ01 Compact Lithium Hand Vacuum is lightweight, yet powerful, easy to charge and easy to clean. This cordless hand vacuum has it all. The HNVC220BCZ01 is powered by a lithium ion battery that holds a charge when its off its charger, offers more charge cycles and is lighter than NiCd batteries. This lightweight vacuum is only 1.4lbs and has 16 Air Watts of suction power. The translucent bagless dirt bowl makes it easy see the dirt level in the larger 13oz capacity bowl and is easy to empty; both filter and dirt bowl are washable. The included brush lets you use the vacuum for dusting + on upholstery, and the crevice tool gives you access to hard to reach areas. The included wall-mountable charger allows for 1 step charging and storage, with an LED light that lets you know when unit is fully charged. And the extra tools store out of the way on the charging base. Kit includes: (1) Hand Vacuum, (1) Crevice Tool, (1) Brush Tool, (1) Washable Bag Filter (HNVCF10), and (1) wall mountable charger. A:Â 1. Before first use, the battery must be charged for at least 10 hours. 2. Place the appliance on the charging bracket whenever it is not in use. 3. Make sure the appliance is switched off. 4. Place the appliance on the base charger . 5. Plug in the charger. 6. Leave the appliance to charge for at least 9 hours. NOTE: While charging, the charger may become warm. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. The appliance can be left connected to the charger indefinitely.

Q: the biggest problem that I have with this unit is that I am not able to remove the dirt and debris from the base of the cone and the crevice tool. it just looks so dingy and dirty...Ideas?

Too hard to charge to be worth it

It’s affordable and effective enough but not great for renters or students. The charger is made to be mounted on the wall. If you can’t mount the charger, it’s not easy to charge the vacuum. A more flexible charging design is needed.

The design is nice and it has good powerful suction but the battery life is very very short and something is malfunctioning with the charger or base. It doesn’t sense it’s on the charger 90% of the time. Very frustrating to grab it for use to find it’s dead and never accepted a charge

It’s 2024 and this handheld vacuum still requires you to hold the start button the entire time while vacuuming. Save your money and use towards a better option.

I don't know how this product is still on shelves. Make the store employees lives easier and stop selling this useless product that will inevitably be returned. It doesn't work for longer than a few minutes, has poor suction and is nowhere near worth the price.

I always buy things online so I can read reviews but I needed a handheld vacuum and just grabbed this one at target without reading reviews which was a horrible mistake. The battery lasts MAYBE 5 minutes before it dies. And that's with it being on the charger for a solid 2 hours. I have dogs and 2 toddlers and this is a horrible vacuum. Wouldn't even waste $5 on it.

I'm disappointed with this product because in order to use I need to hold down the on switch. My previous handheld vac just click and it picked up the debris until I clicked it off. Also, the filter seems to be backwards and I have tried to place it where the filter bag would pick up the debris but the vac would not close. It's too late to return and I'm considering my options - probably will donate to Savers.

Does what it needs to do but power button is a hassle

The vacuum does what I need it to do which is vacuum up small spots…1-2 minute jobs. Hate that the power button needs to be held down the entire time during use. This is the reason for three stars and not five.
