This is one of my fav curl creams. It does not detangle so I comb my hair through before applying on my wet hair. I have tried it on my dry hair but the curls were less defined. It's very thick and takes a little time to work it in, but the end result is worth it. It also has a nice clean smell unlike other curl creams I've tried that have had a overpowering smell. And once it's dried it does not leave a greasy feeling
It was really weird. I had my son sit down, sectioned his hair, then applied per the instructions after wash. It is wet but when I put it on his hair it was a muddy texture & made his hair dry in every single area I put it on even though his hair was still wet. I tried adding moisture, but that didn't work. I had to rewash his hair. I was really disappointed because of the reviews. I guess my son has type 4 hair. He has tight curls that repel water. I wouldn't say his hair is kinky though. He doesn't need a detangler.
I really wanted to love this because it made my 4abc curls pop but i didnt like the texture and how it felt applying to my hair. It doesn't detangle either and i wasn't able to make it moisturizing. I have high porosity hair
I’ve been using this product on and off for five years. I always go back to it it’s really thick so just make sure your hair is really detangled before using. The definition and softness is so beautiful from this product
it only works for me when my hair is dry. i tried with it wet and it weighed my 4c hair down terribly. when my hair is dry, it makes it soft and manageable for low manipulation styles and smells super classic- like old school hair grease. :-)
I Have Type 4 hair (mostly 4a and 4b low porosity). This product made my hair greasy and waxy, its almost like a pomade. It has a nostalgic smell like blue magic or something. My curls were stiff and the product never dried on my hair, I had to shampoo it out. The consistency of this product is weird too. I think it's meant for braids? It has lanolin in it(PEG-75). Beware. This product isn't natural at all.
