Q: Does the Blueair Blue Pure 211+ air purifier have a hepa filter?

submitted by Wondering - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi there, Blueair's HEPASilent™ and HEPASilent Ultra technologies use a combination of mechanical and electrostatic filtration to capture and remove harmful particles from indoor air; our technology is designed to specifically and strategically electrostatically charge particles at a very low current. This makes the particles adhere to the polypropylene fibers in the filter more easily due to electrostatic forces, which allows the use of a less dense filter, so more air can be pushed through with less noise and less energy.

Q: Is there an indicator to change filter?

submitted by Dentay - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello, The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Purifier has a built-in LED indicator. The built-in LED warning system glows red when it's time for a change. For optimal performance, we recommend replacing every 6 months.

Q: Can I use this with a smart switch? Meaning, will the unit automatically run if power is restored?

submitted by Matt - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Matt, we would not recommend using a smart switch as we recommended running your air purifier 24/7 or as much as possible to ensure great air quality. We always suggest turning off the unit completely before unplugging the power outlet. If the power is constantly being shut off while the Air Purifier unit is running it may cause damage to its circuits in the long term. Moreover, the unit needs to be manually turned back on once power has been restored.

Q: Are the filters washable? If not, how often should they be replaced?

submitted by Jules - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest. This unit comes with a washable cloth prefilter and a particle plus carbon filter that is not washable and we recommend replacing every 6 months.

Q: Does this unit have an ionizer?

submitted by Jeanne - 2 years ago
  • A: With Blueair products, you can breathe easy, with no increased danger from ozone. That’s because for 20 years, Blueair has been putting our air purifiers through independent tests to ensure that they do not release ozone. In fact, tests have shown that our products can actually lower ozone concentrations, with the ozone concentration in our system’s output air lower than in the incoming air. The tests are carried out in accordance with the California Air Resource Board (CARB) certification program, the most stringent requirements in the world for air purifiers. Working with Intertek, a CARB accredited test lab, Blueair products undergo a comprehensive series of tests to measure ozone emissions. In these 8-hour-long tests, air purifiers are tested on high and low speed – with and without the filter installed. The Intertek facility features environmental chamber technology, the most trusted and proven scientific method available for testing to see if products produce ozone. None of the Blueair products tested and investigated produced detectable ozone levels. Not only were Blueair purifiers found to comply with the requirements of the UL Standard 867 Section 37.1.2 criteria for emitting a maximum ozone concentration of less than 0.050 ppm, but also no measurable ozone concentration was detected at all.

Just as described and very quiet, on automatic the fan is a little noisier but doesn’t interfere with watching tv. We’re very happy with it and love the light showing how good or bad the air is. Had it a month now,

Very quiet, gets the job done. I increased the size of the air purifier for an open floor plan to minimize cooking smells and it seems to do a good job.

Great Filter but Cat Owners Beware

2 out of 5 stars
Cat Ladyyyy - 24 days ago
originally posted on blueair.com
I bought this unit back in May, and really loved it at first. The design I fell out of love with, after my cats have gotten their claws hooked into the device numerous times due to the numerous small holes on the device. It has been scary each time this has happened because there isn't an easy way to get them out. I wish there was some sort of warning for cat owners before spending money on this product. I'm not sure if other people have had this issue, but wanted to voice my concern about it. I tried reaching out to support before writing this review, and received a response a month later telling me to unsubscribe.

Bought this because of wildfire smoke in Seattle. Worked well - quiet, filtered air well and air indoors was much improved, easy to use and up and running right out of the box. Delivery was prompt. All good.

Sweet running--quiet. The styling is nice but it is the design and efficiency which appeal to us primarily. Styling is just the icing on the cake.

I don’t write many reviews but I’ve returned 3 different air purifiers recently because none of them came close to the Blueair. They set the bar for style and performance.

Very Effective Machine

We purchased this air purifier recently & have been very satisfied with its performance. We live in a 1300 sq ft manufactured home in Fla, with an open floor plan. We have multiple pets. It seems there is always dust & pollen in the air. I have a cpap at night which filters air. Soon after getting up in the morning my head would "fill up". NOW with this air purifier I breath comfortably. It is such a HUGE relief! It really filters the whole house. It is quiet on "normal" setting. Sometimes we will set it on high for an hour or 2 when we do not mind "white noise" if it seems like allergens are building up. We have recommended this model to friends & family!

I bought this on primeday this year because my Dyson air purifiers weren't cutting it. After plugging it in, the difference in air quality was noticeable, and the washable pre-filter helps to capture all of the floating dog hairs around the space.

Good product, No App

Good product, no app access. Other than being disappointed about the latter point, I'm happy with the product overall. On auto it kicks on when you think it should. It does have a light intermittent electronic sound when on auto mode, as it pulls air in and scans the sample for evidence of poor air. For that reason we only keep it on sporadically.

I now have three of them. I have severe allergies to pollen and hyper sensitive to smoke. They've made my house a safe haven. There was smoke and ash in our neighborhood from a nearby fire and we didn't know it until we opened up our front door. Our air inside our house was clean.

I was questioning if this was providing much of a difference for me - however I was cleaning one weekend and unplugged it and forgot to turn it back on after. I woke up two days later wondering why I had allergies and post-nasal drip - it went like this for about a day or so until I remembered I unplugged the purifier. Plugged it back in and my allergies dissipated within a day.

This was great for the first year. Now the motor is making a loud noise! The Blueair company says to contact the retailer, but I guess I'm out of $300 because Target is only 90 days! Not worth it for the price!

Very easy to set up and use. There is an indicator on the front, a light, which shows the current air quality. Whenever the light becomes orange or red, the filter fan works harder. It comes on when I am cooking. It also turned orange a random time yesterday. I am not sure why my air quality was taking a hit. I got the filter because I see chem trails above my house sometimes. Also, I want my house to feel really good.
