Q: Does it work by filtering between rooms even with the doors closed?

submitted by PPmartini - 6 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in Blueair. It's most efficient to run the air purifier with the door closed, as it can cleanse the air more effectively. However, with the door open, it will still clean the air but can take longer since new air is always being reintroduced through the open door.

Q: Is it okay to have the air purifier in direct sunlight if it's near a window? Will it still work effectively if it's behind a couch area (so the kids can't get to it)?

submitted by SamS - 22 days ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in the Blueair 211i Max air purifier! For optimal airflow, it’s important not to block the air intake. We recommend placing the air purifier in an open space, at least a few feet away from walls or large furniture, to ensure it can clean the air properly. We've had this model in our home for several years and it has been dependable, quiet, and most of all, effective at cleaning our air. My wife is particularly susceptible to allergens and pollens in the air so before we got the Blueair w couldn't have windows open often. Now with the Blueair in the house the air is significantly cleaner and she has little or no issues. My parents still live in Southern California where I was born and raised. With the recent fires in thir general vicinity their air quality was crap. As they're 90+ years old I worried about them developing respiratory problems, so I had Blueair send them a 211i plus a smoke filter. They're very happy with it. In the past we had tried various air filtration machines and they were generally good at making noise and blowing some air around, but that's about all! A friend who uses a Blueair machine in his home highly recommended it so we bought one. What a night and day difference from the others we had tried! My advice is if you want something to really clean your interior air, don't fool around with discount box stores junk. Just get a Blueair and you'll see a profound difference.

Not impressed the stupid thing disconnects from the wifi at least once a month so I have to delete it from the app and re add it. My filter life is 41 percent and it blows dust in your face I have cleaned the pre-filter multiple times and it still the same way I had a shark air purifier beforehand and never had these kind of issues and it was cheaper not worth the money that I spent on this stupid thing and trying to get in contact either these guys is a even bigger joke

Wonderful Device for Keeping Air Clean

We have owned our 211i Max for over 2 years now. We never run it when away from home and don't run it at night when we are upstairs. We have good HVAC filters on our heat pump/AC, so it often runs at 0 ppm, but if we cook, or if there are fires in area it always responds in automatic mode when the count ppm goes up. Filter change is easy and have had very few issues with the app (I deleted and reloaded it once) which makes the device easy to control remotely. Our first filter lasted close to 18 months. Filter change is easy. Instructions for changing filter come on the shipping box or a video on the app. Bought one for my granddaughter in Louisiana who is asthmatic. My daughter bought same model too.

They do their job flawlessly! I have two. One in the dining area where my daughter plays, and the other in the bedroom where she sleeps. The one near the kitchen immediately pick up cooking odors, and the one in the bedroom will pick up on dust and exhaust fumes that can come through the windows from a junkyard next door. These things are powerful, and help me decide when I can open a window for fresh air, and when I need to lock the house up tight. We currently live in an older house surrounded by dusty rocks, but both my young daughter and elderly father breathe easy in my home. She has allergies, and he has breathing disorders; and these machines give us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!

This is our second Blue Air 211i Max and I continue loving both. We have 3 dogs and my husband owns a cabinet business that's run in our unfinished basement. These units help decrease both the dog odor and the shop workl smell, and also really has made significant positive impacts on my breathing when it comes to allergy season!

Not doing anything

I have had this air purifier in my living room/dining room for a couple of weeks. I honestly don't know if it is doing anything. I usually keep it on Auto and never once has it adjusted. It is telling me that my air quality is always excellent, but that is hard for me to believe because I have recently moved here and had renovations done, so I know there is a lot of dust. Secondly, I purchased the Blue Pure 311i Max at the same time and use it in my bedroom, and it does sometimes indicate that the air quality is not good and will run to improve the air quality. The 211i Max does not seem to be working and I am considering returning it.
