Q: Can u use this to make royal icing instead of using dried egg whites?
A: Thank you for your question. We do not recommend using our Gluten Free Egg Replacer for royal icing; it is meant for baked goods like cookies, muffins, cakes, and similar but wont work in an icing recipe (or for sauces, mayonnaise, quiche, or scrambles).

Q: I see a lead warning. Is there lead in this product?
A: Hello, thank you for your question. The presence of a Prop 65 warning on a food does not necessarily mean the food is less safe or pure than other comparable products. It is important to understand that many of the chemicals in food that appear on the Prop 65 list are substances that naturally occur in plants or the soil they are grown in, herbicides/pesticides that are approved by the FDA and USDA for conventional agricultural use, or substances that may be formed during cooking or other processes. So, the presence of a Prop 65 warning does not mean harmful chemicals have been added to food. The Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. agency with responsibility for food safety, has studied lead for many years and has set limits on how much lead can be present in food. Our products comply with FDA guidelines. Nonetheless, Prop 65 may require companies to place warnings on products even when the substance is at a level well below the FDA safe limit level https://www.fda.gov/food/metals-and-your-food/lead-food-foodwares-and-dietary-supplements. Thank you!

Q: Would this be a good replacement for french toast batter?
A: Hi Optimiss, The Gluten Free Egg Replacer works best to replace eggs in baked goods like cookies, muffins, cakes, and similar. Our GF egg replacer may work in the French toast batter, but in a small amount, around 1 Tbsp maximum to take the place of something like flaxseed meal or psyllium, in addition to the other vegan ingredients. Thank you, Bob's Red Mill Customer Service team

A: Our Egg Replacer can be used to replace eggs in a baked macaroni recipe. This works best when replacing up to 3 eggs; more than 3, eggs may be too much of an important ingredient to replace.
