I got these books for summer work for a couple of future kindergartners at my daycare. I found the activities to be too simple-more preschool level. In addition to being too easy, the activities were repetitive: a maze, find the letter, circle the sound for each letter. Also the advertised stickers are mostly alphabet letters, which is fine, but there isn’t really a place in the book to use them. My kids quickly became disengaged with the work, and I ended up getting the Highlights workbook, which I have used before with good success.

I really didn't think to examine the books when I received them. I bought a few different books in preparation for the next year, and I had my daughter work on them recently. She came across several pages which were already written in, and the back portion was ripped and used. I don't think COVID germs would last this long, but it's still gross to think about who owned this before. We are frustrated and purchased a NEW book but received this piece of gross garbage. The content is fine.

Most of the book is fun and good practice but page 1 starts with A. The first 4 words to spell are: alligator, apple, astronaut and Alice which are not beginner words. The mazes and color by number are good but....not well thought out. The next two words are at and ant.

The Brain Quest workbooks seem pretty well thought out but the grade levels seem off. I got the kinder workbook because my daughter is working at a early to mid kinder level but it doesn’t even include simple adding activities, only counting to ten. It only covers the letters of the alphabet with no basic CVC words or anything. I’ve ordered the first grade one to see if it has more kinder level content. We liked it enough to try the next level even after this one wasn’t exactly right for us, though!

I bought this Kindergarten workbook for my 4 year old daughter and it doesn't seem challenging enough for 5-6 year olds (which is the suggested age range). My daughter enjoys most of the activities but is able to complete most of them quickly (e.g., in less than a minute) because they are pretty simple (e.g., mazes, coloring activities). The book is colorful and does have a variety of activities, from letter writing and identification (the first 100+ pages), numbers, matching, shapes, etc. We also have the School Zone Big Kindergarten book, which I think is more challenging.
