What an amazing picture book! BRAINSTORM bursts with fun, lyrical language, spot on poetry and lively illustrations. Readers will be inspired by the main character who struggles with a writing assignment, until her ideas begin to trickle. Then, a full brainstorm! The author seamlessly introduces nouns, verbs, and other parts of speech in a delightful, child-friendly way. The vibrant illustrations incorporate words, which spring off the page. BRAINSTORM! is a must-read for writing lessons and especially for kids who have difficulties putting their thoughts on paper.

Thunderous applause for this playful, upbeat and inspiring story about the doldrums of the blank page that get washed away by the soft plink-plink of creativity. As the brainstorm slowly builds we get floods of ideas and a tornado of questions. By the end, the young writer is awash in ideas and ready to write. Great for school and classroom libraries, and a must-have for creative (or not-feeling-so-creative) little ones to get those creative juices flowing.

A child gets stuck on her writing assignment until an small idea drops, then pictures, words, and sentencing start to pour down. A brainstorm forms and her enough to WRITE. The sparse, rhyming text paired with the playful illustrations is a must have for parents, teachers, librarians, tutors, or anyone helping those struggling to get words on a paper. Story prompts and glossary in the back are an excellent addition to an already creative and helpful story.
