The Pioneer Combination Harness-2-Booster Seat makes traveling with your big kid a breeze. SafeCell Impact Protection surrounds your child in safety components that work together to help protect your child. Side Impact Protection features a protective shell and an energy-absorbing foam headrest to keep your child's head and neck secure. Installation is simple with Easy-On / Easy-Off lower anchors that lock into place with a click and are released with the push of a button. The Pioneer Harness-2-Booster Seat can be used in Harness Mode for children 2 years old and 25lbs up to 70lbs or in Booster Mode for children 40lbs up to 110lbs. When your child is ready, the harness can be safely tucked away within the seat to transition into a high-back Booster.
USER FRIENDLY SEAT, Reasonably priced for a quality seat. Highly recommended. I am a mother of 6. My oldest is 21 and my youngest is 2. I have been a loyal BRITAX customer for MANY years and have had several Britax model seats and have always been happy with their products. I bought this Pioneer booster seat for my 2 year old who has graduated from the Britax infant carrier. This seat is easy to install using LATCH. Padding is thick and comfortable compared to a now retired Frontier model. Harness easy to adjust. Seat is not too bulky and fits nicely in a Kia Sorrento - a midsize SUV.
Easy to install, my large 3 year old (wears a 5) loves it. Her only 2 complaints are 1. it is it not as easy for her to undo the bucket as her Joie seat at my in-laws. I’m ok with that as I don’t want her undoing the harness by herself. 2. Her Camelback water bottles get stuck in the cup holder.
We have two Pioneer seats for my 4 and 6 year old. We have loved the seats, but the side foam pieces have all broken. I wouldn’t say my kids are rough on their seats either. They foam pieces stay under the fabric but whenever I take them apart to clean they are extremely hard to get all the foam pieces in place. Going to have to buy new seats and I’m not sure what to get because I thought for sure these would be our last car seats for my kids!
This seems like a great see for my 3-year-old. She told me that it's very comfortable, and getting it installed wasn't bad at all. Finding the lower anchor strap and getting it set up took a minute or two, but I like that it has very clear instructions on the plastic cover that folds over the compartment where the lower anchor strap is kept. I haven't installed it with the seat belt yet so I can't speak to that being simple or challenging. The top tether is straight-forward to use and I like that it has the V-shape to help spread out crash forces (though hopefully it never actually has to be in a crash!) I like that we can use it with the harness now while she's still little, then use it in booster mode when she outgrows the harness. The safety features are admirable and it seems to be consistent with the quality that I've come to expect from Britax seats.
