The Fairview L-shaped computer desk and hutch from Bush will add a touch of style to your home office. With a CPU compartment, drawers, shelves and cubbies, it offers ample storage for computer equipment, files and other essentials. Its casual cottage styling is accented by its white painted finish and classic pewter hardware.
This took a week of free time to build. When I got to the end, putting on the cabinet doors, I saw that one door had an ugly patch job done by someone who apparently tried to fix a defect. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO RETURN THIS THING? It's huge! Also the pull out drawer that they keyboard sits on is cheap and falling apart already. Save yourself a huge hassle and spend your money on something else.
I purchased this desk for its look and functionality of having an L shaped desk that is more on the feminie side of style. I love the look of the desk.. There are LOTS of parts and assembly was questionable at times. The doors on the hutch and the drawers are tricky so follow the directions!
Absolutely love this desk, its pretty well made, real wood. It's perfect for our little 3rd bedroom! I eliminated a 2 drawer filing cabinet piece and my desk and made room for a futon in our office/bedroom
If your up for the challenge of putting this desk together, it is well worth the purchase!

If your up for the challenge of putting this desk together, it is well worth the purchase. The color is more of a beige and is not white as described. I have the desk in my home office with the Threshold™ Carson 5 Shelf Bookcase and the 2 Shelf Bookcase from Target (both in white) and they actually complement each other nicely in the room which has beige walls and white trim/blinds. The desk itself is great! I work from home full time and it provides ample desk space with drawers and compartments in all the right places. It's very sturdy and comes with a manufacturer warranty. On the downside, the desk was shipped in 3 different very large boxes that weighed from 70-100 lbs each. I had a very difficult time just getting the boxes in the house. Putting the desk together was a nightmare. It took my fiancé and I more than 5 hours (with 2 electric screwdrivers) and by the time we finished we were literally screaming at each other out of frustration...and we never fight! The instructions are not difficult to follow, and the pieces are all labeled with hardware sectioned per step however, there are 50+ very detailed steps. Once complete, we both vowed that we would NEVER purchase another large piece of furniture like this that does not come assembled.
The assembly process was extremely difficult - and took my boyfriend (who has more carpentry skills than most) about 5 hours. Several pieces of the desk were made from cardboard - and were already damaged when we removed them from the box. The After the desk was assembled, we noticed a piece was missing. The desk was very cheaply manufactured - NOT worth $500.00, especially considering the skill and time it took to assemble the darn thing. Also, it's certainly not "white" its more of an antique white/beige color. Overall, I was pretty disappointed at the quality of this desk.
This is not white first of all. This is an oatmeal type color. Really nice looking though. It will go well with any type of cottage or country style decor. You will be assembling every single little piece from scratch. Nothing comes assembled even in the slightest. The back paneling was not a top notch material. It was more closer to cardboard but if you keep the back against the wall it should be ok. We originally had it centered in a room but due to the back paneling we planted it against the wall. For the price, looks great and like no other. Looks better than the picture if you are not looking for a white (baby type furniture) finish.
We are really happy with this desk and hutch. It looks great and actually better quality than expected. It is a pain to put together though! So, if you are not handy or have a hard time following directions, than this desk is not for you! It took us quite a few hours to assemble, but totally worth it!
