Directions

Pancakes
For about 6 (4-inch) pancakes, use 1 cup mix, 1/2 cup cool water*, 1 egg and 2 tablespoons butter (melted).

For about 12 (4-inch) pancakes, use 2 cups mix, 1 cup cool water*, 2 eggs and 4 tablespoons butter (melted).
*For a richer flavor and texture, use milk or buttermilk in place of the water

1. Heat electric griddle to 375°F or skillet over MEDIUM heat. Grease lightly with oil, if necessary.
2. Whisk together water, egg and melted butter in a medium bowl. Whisk in mix until batter is moistened and slightly lumpy; do not overmix.
3. Pour about ¼ cup batter onto hot griddle for each pancake. Cook about 1 ¼ minutes per side or until golden brown.

Waffles

Heat lightly greased waffle iron. Prepare mix as directed above. Pour desired amount of batter onto iron. Bake until steaming stops and waffles are cooked. Makes 10 (4-inch) waffles.

Tips from Our Experts
For quick prep, omit the egg and butter and just add 2/3 cup water with 1 cup mix.
Use less water for thicker pancakes; more water for thinner pancakes.
The skillet or griddle must be hot before making pancakes or the batter will stick.
