A: Hello tf, the BYBI Clean Beauty Bakuchiol Booster the brand recommends unlike conventional retinol, Bakuchiol doesn’t increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight, but we do recommend you wear an SPF the following day anyway because that’s just best for your skin all around. Q: If i am prone to leaving the bottle with the dropper still in with the lid unscrewed - how long does it decrease the life on the product? Thanks

A: Yess it will reduce the shelf life from 12 months after opening to 6 months. This is because when a product isn’t closed correctly more air will get in contact with the product which may caused the product to oxidise. Oxidation may have an impact on the smell of the product , and the product may lose its benefits. However there is no risk of microorganism contamination as the product is anhydrous.

I've gone through two bottles of this. The first time I mixed it with other moisturizers and noticed an improvement in my skin but had a hard time knowing what was causing what, especially because the effects lasted for a while after I ran out of this (and Target went out of stock). This time around every moisturizer seemed to be causing me to break out in patchy microcysts so on a whim I tried this by itself (on damp, washed skin) and WOW. My enlarged pores immediately shrunk and I stopped breaking out overnight. My skin looks so much smoother and more calm! No other product has ever had that effect on my middle-aged, combo, very acne-prone, somewhat sensitive skin. I think it helps a lot that this is a super simple formula that has no irritating preservatives or solvents or anything besides squalane with bakuchiol. Haven't used long enough to speak to its anti-aging benefits, but hopeful that will happen with time as well. Only downsides are 1) the bottle is so tiny it runs out pretty fast, and, 2) by itself, this product doesn't add much hydration. Seems to prevents moisture loss as an occlusive and that's enough during temperate humid months but don't think it'll be moisturizing enough by itself in winter. So, still on the lookout for some sort of humectant-based moisturizer or serum to use underneath (may go the DIY route to keep things simple!) TL;DR: Highly recommend this for texture. Target please restock, preferably the larger size bottle!

This is sort of a starter "retinol" for me and I like it! I'm pretty sensitive and acne prone so this only having two non-comedogenic ingredients is amazing! However when I first started using it, it did irriate me a bit. That's mainly on me as I know better than to start actives full-force daily but once I slowed down/started mixing it with a simply HA serum I started getting the benefits w no irritation :) seems to be helping my dryness and acne at the same time!

I’ve used this product before and achieved good results. I apply it at night after I wash my face and tone it. Application is key, as it is one of those products that brings good results in due time. Has a kind of a dewy sticky consistency but absorbs well and doesn’t leave you feeling icky. This has left my once dull and tired skin looking radiant and feeling rejuvenated. Has a very faint sweet floral smell but once applied the smell dissipates and does not linger.

I tried it on one side of my face, concentrating on my under eye and cheek. The next morning I woke up with a swollen eye that lasted a couple days and flaky skin that lasted 2 weeks. Makes me wonder what exactly goes into making this serum because I haven’t reacted to bakuchiol in other products. Or maybe I’m allergic to squalane? For reference, I have dry, sensitive skin with moderate eczema.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Usually I am not a fan of oils but this one was very lightweight and did not feel heavy. It was gentle on the skin and did not irritate it or cause my pores to be clogged up. It also provided decent amount of hydration!

To start, test this with the products you are going to use it with on a small spot on your skin. It is plant derived and people can be allergic to different plants. It shouldn’t be a problem with other products, but better to be safe than sorry If you’re in the clear, then you can either use as it is, or add 2-3 drops to your serum and apply. It says apply at night, but I have been using it twice a day. It takes the serum a bit longer to absorb, but I love the results so far. It’s made my skin so soft! I’m going to add a few drops to my lotion routine and see how that goes too. You can’t go wrong with the price and it’s all natural. I love it and I hope you do too!

I have incredible skin issues from allergies and eczema, but I find I can use this product without any irritation. It keeps my pores clear. Love it!! As far as lack of scent goes: that's what keeps this product so gentle. Many do not know how sensitizing fragrance is for skin, but it is.

let me tell you. I am allergic to so many topical things like vitamin E, witch hazel, lavender, tea tree oil etc. I also have dry eye disease (MGD) so I can't use retinal anywhere on my face as it can cause and exacerbate dry eye due to retinal atrophies the oil glands under the skin near the eye. this gave me no reaction. I have used squaline in the past so I knew if I was allergic to this it was the bakuchiol itself. I patch tested for two nights on part of my neck and lower jaw area and no reaction. as always always patch test first regardless if you think you have sensitive skin or not.

I LOVE this serum. I'm a few months out from my wedding and I bought this serum as part of my new skincare routine. I struggle with very textured skin and discoloration from rosacea & past breakouts. My derm said bakuchiol is the best retinol alternative for sensitive skin, so I apply this after my moisturizer before bed. My sensitive skin has no reaction to it. A little goes a long way and it smells like olive oil which I don't mind. I've been using it for 2 weeks I'm already stating to see my skin tone even out and my pores don't look as big during the day. Just buy it!

I was so excited to try this as I was trying to find something comparable to a sample I received from Dr. Dennis Gross skin care and the nice girl at Target helped me find something with the same active ingredient. It was oily when I put it on which I was looking for more of a serum than oil. I was still optimistic. My skin started itching and burning pretty quickly after applying and my face puffed up and turned bright red even after washing it off. It sooo effected my skin in a negative way, so wanted to post here to warn people in case they also have the same reaction.
