The preheat cycle can be skipped by hitting the Start button a second time. The oven will still take time to rise to the selected temperature, but the countdown timer will start upon depressing the Start button a second time.
Really happy with this unit. It’s easy to use and clean. I shopped around for this oven and Target had the best price even better than Calphalon website. I like the short cord, it hides well. The two shelf racks are all that’s needed for this small type of oven. I understand the preheat function, then you place the food in and hit start, easy...
I love this oven! It replaced and Oster I've had for about 2 years that had a temperature problem. I use it mainly to bake fresh bread. It has an automatic preheat setting based on the temp you selected. I checked it with an oven gauge and it was excellent. Heats up quickly compared to my Oster that took at least ten minutes. One problem is although the outside dimensions are the same as my Oster the interior is not. Probably because of the Quarts larger heating elements. It caused a problem with baking my bread as the bread rose between the heating rods and it was difficult to get the bread out. It did a great job on frozen pizza. Looks great with that new black finish. Directions are worthless.
Works better than anticipated. It preheats quickly and even cools off fast which is nice for us since we have to put it away after use. The convection tool works just like an airfryer. I definitely recommend this product.
I am so disappointed with this. It never finishes the preheat stage. Convection doesn’t work. Food doesn’t cook on the first try. Have to cook the recipe instructions at least twice to be even close to done.
I recently purchased a new home with a very old stove and bought this oven as an alternative to using the one in the stove.

This is the best toaster oven I've ever seen/owned. We reheated leftover french fries and chicken nuggets and the results were excellent! The fries and nuggets were crispy! Using the Turbo option did the trick! Such a great buy!
Have had this for a few days and does what it's supposed to do and does it well. However, it has a few problems. First, the instructions are very incomplete, you're left to figure out features and controls for yourself. For instance, there are 2 slots for the wire rack and nowhere does it say where to place the rack for each cooking mode. Second, the power cord is WAY short. I've had several toaster ovens over the years and this is the first I've had that I couldn't place on the counter where I wanted it because the cord is so short. Third, once the oven comes up to temperature while baking, you have to press the start button again to actually have the timer start working (I've never seen this "feature" on a toaster oven before and nowhere in the instructions does it let you know about this procedure). Lastly, Calphalon wants you to place a hot pad or something else under it to protect the counter. And you have to, not only to protect the counter, but also to raise it up enough so the door opens completely; without it being raised, the feet on this appliance are to short to allow full opening of the door.
