We do appreciate your query.Some of our products are constructed using 18/10 stainless steel, which denotes the ratio of chromium and nickel respectively. Higher nickel content is preferable because it resists rust and corrosion. Calphalon does use 18/10 materials in many of our products; however, we do not indicate the grade of stainless steel used on packaging. Calphalon conducts extensive testing to ensure all materials meet our strict quality and performance standards, and depending on when your item is produced, it can contain 18/10 materials. Q: Can I use metal utensils and/or an immersion blender in this pot without damaging it?

The immersion blender will scratch the bottom of the pot if it bumps the pot's surface, unless your blender has a plastic pan guard on the bottom. However, you may use metal utensils. Thin can. My 22 year old Calphalons are much much better built. It is very light and thin. Even the cover doesn’t snug tight.

I love this pot. I use it for frying among many other things on my glass top stove. My cast iron Dutch oven is still better for certain things, but I LOVE this pot. Have cooked in it almost EVERYDAY since purchase. This pot has made my cooking life sooooo much better.

We needed an in between pot to make soups, etc. We had just gotten a induction stove and needed pots that had magnets. I have no complaints about this 6 qt pot and lid. It is made well, works well with induction stove, cleans easily and continues to look nice. We bought a set of pots and pans as well that and they have all performed well.

I am disappointed with this purchase. While overall the pot is well made, I was surprised to see that it was very difficult to clean after cooking fresh pasta. It seems about all you can cook in this is fresh vegetables, or perhaps, boiled chicken. I am also disappointed that in just about 25 years the quality of components in these steel pots has gone way down. No one makes a 100% stainless steel pot any longer. Those old steel pots from the 1990s remain very easy to clean, and you can cook a big pot of soup, with potatoes, and not worry about anything sticking. So, I will be sticking with my old steel pots, and my new non-stick pots. At least Calphalon has not cut back on the quality of the non-stick pots. If anything, the quality has improved in those pots.

The pot is great quality. It's obvious thought was put into the design. Points for improvement include: lid and pot doesn't have a strainer lip. I am not sure if the loose fit of the lid is designed to prevent steam blowbacks. Rounded bottom to side wall makes it easy to clean. Aluminum wall construction spreads heat nicely. Overall great product that can use a tad of improvement. This is a no brainer purchase.

It shows no wear so far, and I’ve not dealt with any sticking of food to the bottom. I find it cleans easily also. We are a decent size family and it holds and cooks 2-3 boxes of pasta. I love it so much and stand by this brand.

It heats up quickly and maintains and evenly distributes heat so everything in the pot is cooked evenly. It's attractive too so I can't help admiring it on my cooktop while I'm cooking.
