A: Hello Anna - Thanks for your inquiry. To fit a 34” counter height the chair seat height should measure from 24 to 26 inches high. The Carlisle Wood Seat Backed Counter Height Barstool has a 22.4 inch seat height so it will be too short for a 34” counter top. I hope this helps! - Lexie

Q: Will the black metal scratch? Is it painted black or solid black aluminum.

A: These bar stools are powder dipped. This is a type of paint is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and other wear because of the thermal bonding it undergoes during curing, and because it can be applied in much thicker layers. Powder dip can also create a much more vibrant color.

These turned out perfectly. Super easy to put to together. They’re on the smaller side but not too small for our needs and still very sturdy. Beautiful color and they have rubber pads on the feet so they don’t scratch the floor. Definitely worth it.

1 of the chairs was wobbly, another one was difficult to assemble because one of the holes was stripped. Other than that the seat is darker than pictured and kind of a grainy uneven surface which is not very comfortable to sit on. I definitely expected better quality for the price.

What I liked about these particular stools is I could buy INDIVIDUALLY. Elsewhere it was with a pair of 2 or 4, and I wanted 3. Of the 3, on one I did notice a small Scratch.. similar to what I seen listed on another review. And one I am sure had been purchased and returned. It was the last stool from its box and the last to be assembled. When opened box, it was upside down compared to others, I even looked at box to take note if I opened it upside down and I had not. The foam packing was wrapped a bit differently as well, and although screws were there.. the Allen wrench was missing. (Each comes with not only 4 needed screws. But a spare as well and Allen wrench) When I went to attach the back I noticed scuff marks. My thought someone had attached back prior or had tried. I say TRIED cause I had difficulty lining screws up with holes… but made it work after a bit of fussing with it.
