No questioning Carrie Underwood's talent and that this is a beautiful album that looks, plays and sounds great. I would describe these songs as very soft and pretty; and if that's what you're looking for in a Christmas album, you'll love this. Personally, I would have loved to see just a little more tempo and a little more percussion and bass on some of these tracks. I'm not talking about all of the songs and certainly not talking about turning them into Christmas rock songs. I just think a few of the tracks could have been extraordinary if you added a little juice, and I think the entire album would have just felt warmer and more balanced.
