48" Carson 3 Shelf Bookcase - Threshold™

I bought one of these a couple years ago and needed another one and was thrilled when I saw Target still sold these. However, the color on line looks NOTHING like the picture. The Espresso color online looks like a warm cherry/walnut brown color, which would have matched, what was sent to me is pretty much black, sadly I have to return and now I don't know where I'm going to find one to match the one I have.

I was looking at the three shelf bookcase wondering what it would look like, then I realized I have two of these sitting side by side in my den and 2 of the five shelf also in my den. I have had these since I bought this house 17 years ago, and they have been great. Mine are full of books and are very sturdy. I am probably going to buy another one but when I realized I had those 4, I thought I should give them a good review.

Not actually espresso. It’s closer to black.

Where are the assembly instructions? I don’t know if I have all the parts! Hard to rate purchase if no instructions!DUH!!!

Color online is much lighter than what I received. Need to return it as it looks black instead of dark brown.

This bookcase was exactly what I was looking for and at a great price to boot! Super easy to put together with step-by-step instructions. Quite sturdy for not being solid wood and very nice to look at. Fits perfectly with my living room. I honestly may buy another!

I bought two of these shelves and they beautiful and of high quality!

This is a sturdy bookcase. Works well for my granddaughter’s bedroom, just the right height for a 9 year old. Easy to assemble. Only complaint is that the backing for the bookcase is basically cardboard.

love the Carson series of shelving. I have the Dark espresso in my living room and white in my bedrooms. they seem to be very durable, easy to put together and sturdy.

Cheaply made with noticeable dings everywhere. The instructions also indicated there would be pre-drill holes in the back and there were not. So that was a hassle to drill multiple holes for the back panel. The top panel also has a gap.

Quality is good. Looks more expensive than it is.

Holes are not big enough. Dowels break. Handling with TLC the finish still chips. Not a good value for the money.

I ordered the Espresso finish and it is beautiful! The assembly instructions and the hardware packaging were the easiest and best I have ever seen! Kudos to the manufacturer!

Love the style but you definitely get what you pay for. Super cheap product. These photos were taken while being put together— not even used yet!

This was not too difficult for one person to put together. Took a bit more time than expected, however looks great! Plenty of room for what I was looking to accomplish and still space to fill. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

Awkward height and depth of shelves for books. Also has a lip on the top so adding and removing books is challenging. Decent shelf for non-book use.

I bought the white 48" Carson 3 shelf bookcase, which was perfect for our granddaughter's toys, books and especially to hold the T.V. Be sure to anchor shelving and T.V. to the wall. Nice quality for the price. I have other Carson pieces and they are all great.

Already had the horizontal bookcase, and love it, ordered the 3 shelve one this time. it was a completely different color. Very disappointed and taking ir back.
