We evaluate Cascade extensively to ensure it rinses clean every time and leaves your dishes sparkling clean. If you are experiencing a left over taste on your dishes, there are a few things we would recommend checking. First, if your dishwasher has a filter, we would recommend removing it and cleaning it according to the dishwashers manual. In addition, It is also important to make sure all of the items are dishwasher safe, and that the sprayer arms are not getting stuck because of a rouge pot handle during the cycle. Please keep in mind that some items made of cast iron, or dishes that have become porous over time can absorb Cascade causing a lingering taste. Finally, we'd recommend giving Cascade Free & Clear a try as it contains out lightest scent. We want to learn more about what is happening in order to help you further. To get the best results, be sure your water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit/49 degrees Celsius. Also, when loading the machine, be sure all items will get the full spray and that your spray arms aren’t blocked. We wouldn't expect Cascade to impart the taste of the dishwashing soap into food or drink, and we’re very sorry to learn about your experience. Please know, our Safety Team works very hard to ensure all of our ActionPacs meet our high standards, so what you’ve described isn’t what we expect. If your dishes are retaining the scent of Cascade, it may be a sign that the soap isn't completely getting rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. Additionally, it might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. Try removing the smell by soaking your dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it. For your safety in the kitchen, it might be best to stop using Cascade Platinum ActionPacs, but give Cascade Free & Clear a try, as it has the lightest scent of all Cascade dishwashing soap.
