fine but not an oil cleanser

As with any Cerave cleanser, the price is right, so it’s hard to go wrong. That said, this doesn’t perform like an oil cleanser. Works like a plain gel cleanser, albeit on the gentler side. I wanted to get into double cleansing with an affordable Cerave option, but this isn’t it.

This feels so nice on your skin. It cleans well but leaves your skin really soft and hydrated. It has no scent. Doesn't irritate my eyes. It removes sunscreen and makeup. This is my favorite CeraVe cleanser.
First Cerave disappointment.

Usually a huge Cerave fan but this didn’t do it for me. My skin did not like this product. Dried me out, burned my eyes and on top of that, you need to wet your face first and then apply which is just an unnecessary extra step.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the hydrating facial foam cleanser for a while now - this product is similar composition/ingredients but the consistency is lighter. It's supposed to be for dry skin but I find that it makes me even dryer afterward, whereas the hydrating facial foam cleanser by the same company did not. Always worth a try with new products but I think I'll stick with old reliable for now.

This cleanser burned my skin and gave me severe rashes on my face and neck. Do not recommend. Will be returning this tomorrow. I've never had this problem with any other cerave product.

I also didn't like this compared to the regular foaming cleanser. One would think this one would be more hydrating but it also dried my skin as well. Back to my old standby.

Holy grail for dry skin, within a week of using this new cleanser my face has stopped breaking out and the existing blemishes are healing, as advertised leaves skin feeling clean but not tight, 10/10 recommend for dry skin type, liking it more than the original hydrating cleanser

I wanted to try this one. I normally use the cerave cream to foam cleanser and this feels more drying than the milky white one (intended for normal to dry) this one is very dry to dry skin. My face feels stretched out, stripped and a bit on the dryer side using this. I would have thought this would be for people with oily skin after trying it because it did not feel moisturizing at all. It looks like oil but feels like a clear cleanser thats a bit stripping before putting on lotion. After putting on moisturizer it feel like no oils on my face and still a bit dry and cetaphil lotion can feel pretty oily. I have an oily t zone and normal skin elsewhere in the face. Pick this one if you want less oil and choose the cream to foam for more moisture. I prefer the cream to foam.

It feels like a combo of an oil and a creme cleanser. I put it on dry and rub all over my face (including eyes - no burn) and then I get it wet to foam up a little and rinse. This is a great product. Coming from a die hard oil cleanser lover please keep this around!!

This has squalene in it which comes from shark liver. Disappointed in Cerave for using that ingredient.

You don't even need to purchase this to know its not a real oil cleanser. If you look on the ingredients list, the first ingredient is water. It feels like a thin gel cleanser. Although my skin looks good right after use, I am very confident that it broke me out. Obviously this likely won't be the case with every user, I thought it was important to share.

My new favorite CeraVe cleanser. I love this stuff. I squirt, some in my hand, and then rub my hands together really fast. It creates a nice foam. It’s definitely doesn’t have an oil feeling.
