I purchased this to bring on a trip to the EU/UK because it allows for the higher voltage (I had burnt out the full-sized one on a previous trip to Paris -- whoops). I bought this Chi because it is the only version that is dual voltage. I temporarily live in Australia where electricity is 220 volts. I'd have preferred a full-size Chi but am grateful to find any at all for use here. I have curly hair and I would never try to straighten my whole head with this but it is great for touch ups like bangs especially when traveling. It's small and compact and easy to use.
