I love the look and feel of these placemats. As stated by others, there is a chemical smell when you get them out of the plastic. I washed them with laundry soap and dried them. This took the smell out and they are great! They do shrink a bit, but it didn't bother me. Very thick and tightly wove...see moreof the reviewer's review
