Q: is this model fad approved?

submitted by Bc - 4 years ago
  • A: Confused.... “I’m assuming model fad means something freaky for the sake of it” what does that even mean?? At least I could figure out what the original question was trying to ask, your comment makes absolutely no sense and definitely was not helpful. Quite amusing reading how your calling out someone for a typo but yet your composition is lacking to say the very least. Pick up a book and read instead of failing at being an online gangster. It actually might do you some good.

submitted byMisswineyb - 3 years ago
  • A: From what I have learned supposedly only the oximeters that require a prescription to get are FDA approved.

submitted byChantellalee - 3 years ago
  • A: I think this question was meant to say, "Is this model FDA-approved?" It's not possible to determine based on the information available on this website (as there is no model number given in the product description.)

submitted byanonymous - 3 years ago
  • A: Probably not. I have no idea what model fad means. Apparently noone else does either, or they otherwise lacked enough patience to answer your question. If you're a space cadet, you don't need an oximeter anyhow. I'm assuming model fad means something freaky for the sake of it.

Q: Is it for all ages and what else is it used for except checking for your pulse.how long does it last

submitted by Christian - 7 years ago
  • A: Mine has worked well for several months. It survived a trip through the washing machine. It's a good machine.

submitted byvillandra - 4 years ago
  • A: Be careful to keep the finger being scanned still. Readings will be unreliable if you are waving your finger around. Kids would need to be monitored in this regard.

    submitted bymarginally_hopeful - 3 years ago
  • A: The Oximeter is for all ages as long as the finger is big enough to be detected. It is good for registering the amount of oxygen in the blood and your heart rate. I have had mine for quite awhile (don't remember when I purchased it) and it is still working just fine.

submitted byIvy - 7 years ago
  • A: The fingertip pulse oximeter can be used for children older than 3 years, except checking for the pulse, you can also use the oximeter to monitor your blood oxygen saturation (SpO2 ). You need around 10s to get the measurements, 2AAA batteries can be used for more than 1,000 measurements.

Q: do you put a finger in or is it on the moniter

submitted by jone - 4 years ago
  • A: It opens up when you press the top part (the front and back) and you put your finger in it.

submitted byHope - 4 years ago
  • A: I don't understand. Is what on the monitor? It works kind of like a clothes clip. You stick a finger in the clip portion and then turn it on.

submitted byvillandra - 4 years ago

Q: How to replace the batteries

submitted by Ma V - 4 years ago
  • A: On the back there is a cover that you slide off and the batteries go there.

submitted byHope - 4 years ago
  • A: On the back, press on the triangle on the longer portion, in the direction it points. You could need a flathead screw driver to get it off, especially the first time. Then you switch out the batteries exactly as you would anything else. Then put the cover back.

submitted byvillandra - 4 years ago

Q: Does it work if you are wearing finger nail polish?

submitted by RC - 4 years ago
  • A: It says in the instructions that fingernail polish may cause inaccurate readings.

submitted byHope - 4 years ago
  • A: Allegedly it may not work or may not work as well if you are wearing nail polish. It works by passing light through your finger and nail polish gets in the way. I'd lose the nail polish, and the lipstick and the tatoos, and whatever else.

submitted byvillandra - 4 years ago

Q: What r good/bad #'s?

submitted by Willow - 7 years ago
  • A: Should normally be 95%. In my experience with my meter it may be a point off, so 94%. Below 88% or 90% you would seek medical help - if it continues. You should know your own normal readings, under an assortment of circumstances. Not everyone has normal oxygen saturation. You don't want to be panicking thinking you have respiratory distress and it's normal for you! For example, I have exercise induced hypoxia, and my doctors haven't so far found a reason why. Keep in mind that if you had covid and used this meter to know when to call for emergency aid, they'd need to know more information, such as how many breaths in a minute, are you short of breath, are your lips turning blue, do you have a diagnosis of covid. One thing you want to watch out for with covid is you were recently sick with it, you now think you're fine, but your body isn't getting enough oxygen. That kind of thing normally requires having been sick for a few days.

submitted byvillandra - 4 years ago
  • A: Anything above 95% is good

submitted byRachel - 6 years ago

Q: Are batteries included?

submitted by Susanna - 3 years ago
  • A: Yes.

submitted byAmerican - 3 years ago

Q: Where is this item made?

submitted by Dog Mama - 4 years ago
  • A: The box says made in China.

Bought tin 2020 when I had Covid. Had on my finger through ambulance ride and while in the emergency room. Was curious to see if this oximeter was accurate, so I looked at the readings of this oximeter and the one from the hospital that was on my other finger. The numbers changed exactly the same at the same time. I was pleased that I had an accurate one.

Life Saver

5 out of 5 stars

I am 100% certain this saved my mom’s life. At 77 years old, she was sick and alone. About 2 days later, she was feeling worse. She lives in Ohio and I live in California. She sounded terrible on the phone so I ordered this for curbside pick up and had it delivered to her house. In less than an hour she had it and found her oxygen to be at 83%. Within and hour of the reading she was taken to the Emergency Department which verified the low O2 saturation. She tested positive for influenza A and pneumonia. Her labs were a mess from dehydration. She was hospitalized for 4 days and sent home with Oxygen about 4 days later. I think every person should own one of these, especially the elderly or immune compromised! I’m so thankful my mom is still here and sickened to imagine what could have happened if she didn’t know how critically low her O2 was

This product simply did not work. It would rarely take a reading after many tries. When numbers did appear sometimes they were clearly inaccurate. No, my oxygen level cannot be 80%. I'm returning this product.

I got this when I first had Covid (I was vaccinated but got it from a coworker at the school I taught at) in October after being released from the hospital. It has been accurate most of the time, but in the passed month when I had influenza it read much higher and continued to when I felt fine. I tested it with a trained nurse at my doctors office and she checked my pulse at 96 while this ready 152; my blood pressure was 122/80. Even new batteries still had me at really high numbers and had my family members at really high or really low. Don’t waste your money! Do your pulse yourself!
