A: I wouldn't use this product for that. It's "semi-permanent" and the color may fade somewhat over time (weeks or months) but in my experience the color never completely goes away. I only retouch the roots once a month and the color stays continuous to the tips.
A: This hair color usually last a couple of months but, the more you shampoo the quicker it will wash out.
A: Hi Willec94, Clairol's Natural Instincts Hair Color can last up to 6 weeks. Hope this helps!
A: New growth is the main factor. My gray hair starts to come in around 2 weeks after applying semi-perminent dye. The shaft of the hair is fine but the roots will need to be touched up as they grow in.
A: Natural instincts is a demi-permanent hair color. That means the color doesn't permanently alter your virgin hair, it only deposits beautiful tones. This is made to enhance color and boost shine. I am not sure if it would deposit the color that you are looking for.
A: Someone with natural, uncolored hair who wants to try color, can chose from Natural Instincts flattering shade palette. Depending upon your natural color, you can change the tone or darken the color. So for instance, if you’re a light brown or even a darker brown, you can put a reddish shade on and create a beautiful effect on your natural color. Your natural color will come through, but the tone will be different. As always, feel free to call 1-800-Clairol to get a customized shade recommendation. Enjoy your beautiful, healthy shiny color with Natural Instincts
A: I’d be very careful because in my experience it never washes out completely. So I wouldn’t use a color more than a shade of two different from your natural color.
A: yes. This only lasts for 28 washes. It's not meant to cover grays but enhances your natural hair color.
A: I have found thats it’s mostly permanent despite it claiming to wash out in 28 shampoos. It fades but doesn’t wash away. I still don’t think you’d get a dramatic blonde root line though, because it does fade.
A: It goes away after 28 washes. Natural Instincts is a Demi Permanent color. That means the color doesn’t permanently alter your natural virgin hair, it only deposits beautiful tones. Because of this, it gradually fades away every time you wash your hair. This is why you won’t get a harsh root line as your hair grows out.
A: I would not recommend this to cover a very gray mustache and unfortunately, you are not able to keep the remainder to use again.
A: Try Just For Men. You can squeeze a little out of both the color gel and the developer and just use what you need as you go, safely saving the rest in their separate containers. Hair color can't be saved once the color and the developer mix.
A: If you're using a bright red of some sort, you will see some difference, I'd say, but nothing else. These colors are much more subtle than permanent dyes. They do get more intense if you leave them on longer, but I don't know if that's necessarily a good idea. I'd say talk to a hairstylist for professional advice.
A: I have light brown hair, and it covers the gray somewhat but not all the way. I don't think it would cover on very dark hair.
A: Yes. This is a very hair friendly dye. Your hair will feel fuller and healthier after using it. I imagine that the highlighted areas will be a bit lighter than the rest is though. I used it for 20 years.
A: Highlights to your hair are lightened hair strands. Putting a hair color product, on your "highlights" and natural hair will change the color of all of your hair. Depending on the depth of color, whether you use a lighter or a darker color. Your hair will change accordingly. You must realize that the "highlighted sections' will not end up the same color as the rest of your hair. Read the directions before using.
A: This will only dye your hair. The excess dye may stain your skin for a day until you wash but it is not permanent, nor is it meant to be. Please be very careful around your eyes with any hair dye product. Damage to your eyes is not reversible.
A: Any permanent hair dye will dye your skin as well as hair. BUT the dye will wear off your skin in a couple of days.
A: As a retired Hairdresser of over thirty years experience, I will answer as best I can. The Natural Instincts does not contain peroxide therefore it will not lighten or basically change your color. { If you want to change your hair color use one with peroxide. My hints will be the same as far as the base of the colors . Red, black, Ash, Gold Cool.} Now using Natural Instincts... First, you must look at the hair color you have at present. If your hair is dark, it will not lighten, therefore Using a light color will effect your color very little. Black is black and very hard to get rid of. If you have white hair, your hair no longer has any basic color and will absorb whatever the base color is. Therefore remember the basics. R usually means Red base. White hair will look orange when using a straight red. If you use Ash . it means a green or purple base. White hair will come out a greenish or light purple shade of ...say light brown. G usually means gold tone. C usually refers to a cool tone, blue base, Which can mean a blond with cool tone has no gold or brassy color., more platinum tone, I am referring to a cool blonde. Without knowing what your basic hair color is, no one can tell you what color to use. So, take your basic color , and decide if the color you are selecting is close to what you want. The Natural Instincts does not contain peroxide therefore it will not lighten or basically change your color. It will enhance the color or give you highlights if your hair is already light enough. Now, I use 6.5C, lightest brown. on an 95 year old aunt with totally white hair. She likes her hair a soft light brown. Directions say leave it on 10 minutes. With solid white hair, this is not long enough. I put it on the roots for 10 minutes, comb it through the hair using all of it and leave for an additional 10 minutes. This leaves her hair natural looking, no gold brass or green or purple . A light to light medium brown. It holds color for months. It gets lighter but has never completely washes out. I re-color when needed. I hope this is not too confusing and is of some help.
A: Natural instincts blonde shades are non permanent color that only colors over either grey or already blonde hair. If you have brown hair and want blonde steaks you have to have the brown stripped out with a peroxide to make the streaks first. However If you already have light blonde or grey hair you could use either 9 or 8A to obtain a color with no red. (start with the 9 first).
