Codenames: Deep Undercover is an adults-only, mature version of Codenames using the same popular game mechanics, but introduces all-new words, packaging, “by-standers” and art. A new twist is added with the inclusion of blank cards, allowing players to introduce their own words to the game. The two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES. The teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right color while avoiding those of the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid t assassin!
This game is a lot of fun however the version pictured is not what we got. To be fair the title is what we ended up with but we thought we were ordering Deep Undercover 2.0 as pictured. Because of this we will need to return the game.
My friends and I really enjoyed this game. I played the original code names with others and enjoyed it. This one definitely has mature themes, so if those things make you uncomfortable, this game isn’t for you. It’s a fun game to come up with creative ways to group words together. I definitely recommend if you and your friends are into adult humor!
This game was given to us by someone who had played the original, and didn't notice this was the "adult" version. It is full of words that I do not think are funny or fun to play with - disgusting is the word that comes to mind. I would like to return it. It is not fun.
