Description
The Coleman 2-Panel 400L LED Lantern will be your go-to device for camping, power outages, and more. Two detachable panels make it easy to take light with you without carrying the entire lantern. I have only used this lantern a few times but I can never get the side panels to light up when detached. Installing D-batteries is the only way to charge the side panels, but again they don’t charger or light up when detached.

The side panels do not charge. I just bought this have had the main batteries in for 3 days and the panels do not work unless attached to the base.

Have used this lantern several times ... it has chewed through 3 sets of batteries and the led panels only work while attached to the base ... the have never recharged on the base unit .....

I got this as a gift so I didn't do my homework before purchasing which worked out great because the ratings are not nearly as good as they should be. We have used for power outages and hiking/camping. We use the lowest setting to walk the narrow mountain roads at night so cars can see us but it isn't too bright in their eyes. It has many lighting options and rechargeable side panels. The fact that it can charge our phones has been awesome during power outages. We are still on our same original set of Amazon disposable batteries. We were going to buy rechargeable batteries found there was absolutely no need. It's just as simple to have one backup set of batteries. LOVE this lantern.

Very good lantern! We bought 150 for our employees. Everyone was happy. Gave only 4 stars instead of 5 because some batteries on panels were dead - won't even recharge. So we had to buy rechargeable batteries which are not cheap.

Whole unit works great, but the panels don't work when removed. I replaced the batteries in the panels with regular AAA and the panels lit up. Either the battery charge system is faulty or the rechargeable batteries that are included are defective.

I haven't had a real need to use this lantern just yet but I do like its look. I like the LED panels on the sides. It's not a huge amount of light output but then I only need it to navigate a small area if I ever lose power in my home. Nice and compact and the batteries go in and out easily from the bottom panel. Nice!
