Coleman Torrey 30 Degree Big and Tall Sleeping Bag - Black/Gray

This thing is a pile of junk! Out of the box. One of the seams was ripped. It's near impossible to get back in the bag and the strap system to roll it up is terrible! Do not buy this.

I was searching for a sleeping bag for an upcoming camping trip to Yosemite National Park. Looking at the weather for that weekend, it would get in the low 30s at night. I usually feel restricted when I'm in a regular sized sleeping bag, so when I saw this, I thought I would give it a try. Taking it out of the bag for the first time took a little wiggling and I ended up tearing the white expandable strip for the sack. From its thickness, I felt that it would be warm and comfortable to sleep in. And it is for sure wider than the regular sleeping bag. I don't really like wearing socks to sleep, and I didn't end up needing to sleep in any to keep my feet warm. It says it could fit a person up to 6'5". I'm 5'2" and it was very roomy for me, but I'm not sure how roomy it would be for a person who is 6'5". Even though he has his own spot next to me in the tent, my dog was able to sleep in the sleeping bag as well when he wanted. There is a little pocket in the interior edge of the opening of the sleeping bag. I tried putting my phone in there, but it didn't really seem like a great spot for it and would slip out because the pocket size was too small. I read reviews before buying it, so I was aware that I may have a difficult time repacking the sleeping bag...and those reviews are sooo right! There's a little red toggle tab thing along the side of the sleeping bag that is supposed to help keep the sleeping bag in a straight line after folding it when rolling it up, but that wasn't super helpful for me. The idea of the quick release/hook cords to keep the sleeping bag from unrolling is a good idea, but I think it could be improved in a way to help better compress the sleeping bag more so that it isn't so difficult to stuff back into the sack. Either that or Coleman provides this particular sleeping bag a wider sack. Overall, I think it's a good sleeping bag...I just wouldn't look forward to putting it away after. If you decide to buy this sleeping bag, it would be a good idea to get a compression sack big enough to repack it in. That's something I'm planning to do.

What is so great about a sleeping bag? Nothing really. It keeps you warm at night. Thats what it did.

The length of the bag is great for a tall teen or adult and proved warm enough inside a cold cabin. HOWEVER, they list this as "easy to pack" because of the cord. IT IS NOT easy to roll up and put back into the protective cover. It's almost impossible. Upon discovering this before sending my teen to camp, we Googled it and new we were in trouble when people have to make a YouTube video to show how one has to rolll it up. The video even showed it next to impossible. Both my teens who used it had to get the assistance of other kids AND adult camp counselors to help roll it up in the cover! It became the class joke that the bag is not meant to be used more than once. We are off the camp again this year and I am looking at other bags. I decided to write this review and not recommend this (otherwise nice bag) because of this one massive flaw. It will make you to swear.

Very spacious and Sturdy. Stayed at temperature within sleeping bag

Provided adequate length,warmth. Hard to roll up to get back in to its BAG.It like trying to get Biscuit dough back in the can. I had to order this BAG from 3 different Stores before I had to drive 16 miles from my home to Pick it up.

This sleeping bag is HUGE! It’s great for tall people, the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars, is that it needs a bigger bag to fit it in. I’m looking into buying a bigger carrying bag, for now we are using a trash bag that it barely fits into.

Someone else said exactly what I was thinking. I'm also a woman with a large chest. I'm bigger and taller than the average cis woman but still, I'm a cis woman. It took significant effort to get it zipped around my shoulders as I was so scrunched up. I can't even imagine how an actually big and tall man would get into this thing! Regular sleeping bags accommodate my chest and shoulders better. It is long, so as someone else said, it's made for those who are tall and skinny, not big. The construction is okay, it feels nice, looks good, and has an internal cell phone pocket that will work if your phone isn't in too big a case but, one again, it may be a tight fit. Even the bag it came in was too small! It was a huge chore just to get the sleeping bag out of its sleeve. Coleman, charge a few more dollars and actually use enough fabric to make the item passably. Dang.

Too bulky and puffy to serve as a practical camping item

It was tall and warm but not built for women with above average breasts. Becomes hard to move inside while zipped.

I loved that it keeps you warm and was easy to roll back up.

It’s warm and made out of nice comfy materials

This sleeping bag is bulky and hard to roll up. It does not fit back in the bag it came in. It takes up too much space in the car. It would have been better to invest in an REI sleeping bag that squishes into a bag. But we were in a rush before a trip. It would be fine for a kids’ sleep-over though.

While this sleeping bag is warm and fairly comfortable, it is impossible to get back into the bag. It is also certainly not a big/tall, I’m 5’5 and felt like this was almost too small for me

At first sight, the bag looks very nice and comfy. However, it was a nightmare. Poorly made, everything the reviews say below that are ‘negative’ are unfortunately true. The style is very sleek but craftsmanship is a firm no for me.

Bag was warm. Zipper pulled easily. Only downside is it’s not going to fit back in the bag.

The materiality of the sleeping bag feels like that of a much more expensive sleeping bag. It worked extremely well during my recent camping excursion, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sleeping bag!

The threads starting breaking after one use, poor craftsmanship. And it’s impossible to roll it back up and put it in the bag. The strings to keep it rolled up also do not work, making it terrible to store.
