A Great Tent

I love this tent. It has been sturdy and reliable on every trip I've been on with it. The one complaint I have is that it is a pain to put away, often taking three or four tries to get it back in the bag. On my last camping trip in the Smokys we had one day of heavy rain and the tent did leak slightly in the middle, so I will need to treat it before my next trip. However, I've had it for about 7 years and it has kept dry before this last trip. It has stayed pretty clean and I haven't experienced any rips or tears in the pole slots or in the tent itself.

Great until it rains.

I set up this tent easily and loved the screened porch. Until it rained. There is no rain fly for porch so there was a 1/2" of standing water in it. The next day the tent dried, except for the water in the front. I tried to pack it up but the water made it super heavy and unable to pack correctly. I ended up throwing the tent away because I didn't want all the water and mud in my car. If you buy this tent, expect to cover the whole thing with a tarp.

I have had this one's baby sister (4 person) for years. I really liked it, but did have problems with rain seeping in by windows and porch. Some shower liners and Velcro fixed that. I need to replace that one (broken zipper) and opted for the larger size. I put it up to check for parts and damage, but have not camped with it yet. I will cover porch with shower liners again, but I hope the new design of the fly sheet over windows will solve that problem. I am also glad to see that the screened section of the porch floor has been moved to the front so that any water that does get in will drain away from tent. I hope this one lasts as long as the last.

Withstood five days of rain!

Went to Disneyland in early March and stayed at an RV park down the road. (We love to tent camp). Rain was in the forecast but we’ve been plenty of times we figured it would only be some showers....we were wrong!! It poured the entire time with few breaks in between! The good thing is, our new tent stayed completely dry inside!! The only thing I can say is it was hard to put away.

It works

Had this tent a while seems to have lots of failures with minimal use. Zippers failed and loose teeth, pole split, rip stop fabric ripped, leaks, screen tears, and tent steaks bent on first use. If your not going to a heavily groomed camp ground on a perfect day this shouldn’t be your first choice. Coleman use to be my go to but I am starting to question the quality of their products. Really sad since this was a wedding gift from my wife.

Would not fit 8 people

I had previously bought a tent from one of the Coleman Truckload Sales. When I went to use the tent it was defective so I returned it. Unfortunately the tent I had bought was not in stock so they offered me this one at no extra charge. They told me it was as large as the one I had. When I actually got around to using it, it was clearly smaller than my previous tent. I had gone away on a weekend trip and had myself, my fiancée, and all our gear. There was hardly any room to stand, even though it says you are supposed to be able to stand. There was hardly any room for us and our gear, even though it says it fits 8 people. I fail to see how it would fit 8 people unless two are in the enclosed porch... Even then where would everyone place their gear??? Do not recommend this tent and will be looking for a replacement.

Great family tent

This tent is great. It's easy to put up, the vestibule is great for leaving your shoes and beach stuff. It has pockets for keys and phones. My only complaint would be with the version I have there is no electrical cord access. I've been in 8 hours of rain in this tent and only had a tiny bit of water in the lowest corner. I've had it for 3 years and its still good.

The screened-in front compartment is excellent at keeping bugs out and catching and storing rain water. Next time we go camping, i'll have to remember to bring the pool toys
