Quickly provide comfort and shelter to any outdoor party with the Coleman Swingwall Instant Canopy. In three minutes and three easy steps, this 10-foot by 10-foot canopy tent sets up to create 100 square feet of shade. The versatile Swingwall can be set up as a wall for added protection from sun, rain, or wind, or it can be put up like an awning for an additional 60 square feet of shade. Ergonomically designed comfort grips allow you to set up and lock the lightweight telescoping poles supporting this outdoor canopy without having to reach over your head. Welded steel feet on the poles provide stability on hard surfaces. Made of heavy-duty UV Guard material, this instant canopy also delivers 50+ UPF. The canopy quickly folds down into a compact size for easy transport and storage.
Used it 4 times, and twice the frame bent and frame members broke. The first time I had just staked two corners (the provided stakes are AWESOME, but not enough), but the wind blew the canopy over and the frame bent and 2 cross members snapped and many of the screws connecting the members together bent. I bought extra cross members and screws (cost about half what the canopy cost) and repaired everything, then took it camping again. That time I pounded the stakes all the way in, and the canopy didn't blow over, rather the rain collected on it, collapsed the top, and then two more frame members snapped...had to duct tape it together to last the camping weekend. The canopy cover seems strong, but the frame members are a lot thinner than traditional canopies, and break where the screw holes are drilled. Not well designed. I am hoping to return, since this is obviously a bad design. I hope Coleman can work it out, though, because the size and setup is nice. I found the swingwall less useful than I thought it would be...it doesn't shield rain so from that point is not an extension of usable canopy. Only good for sun. But if you drop the swingwall down on a sunny and windy day, you will lose your canopy and it will break.
We got this for our deck.we have a large deck and chise to use this to cover a portion until roof is added. At first all good, but as summer has moved along ,it has taken its toll on the fabric, it is very thin and cheap. We just had a storm come through had the side wall down and anchored. Now there are two sides completely ripped open along the seam. Very disappointed figured buying a big name such as Coleman, would mean better quality overall. This maybe a good product for occasional use, but definitely not for everyday use, well 4 months.
I was skeptical as some reviews were not so good, but I sure am glad I purchased this swing arm. We used the anchors and had no issues in the 10-14 mph wind all day every day on the beach. At night we would drop it down short to be safe, but was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and size. Love the additional shade and feel it is sturdier when that arm is actually up and anchored.
I was at a outdoor dog show and trial over the 4th for four days. It was windy every day. I had it staked down, and when I returned in the morning, everything was just as I left it. The swingwall is awesome. I could leave it down and open up the 'windows' above and below or just one or the other for airflow. My friend had the same model, so we had them side by side with enough space to open the swingwall fully for extra space and shade. It also rained a bit and everything stayed dry. I personally set this up by myself. I'm a 58 yr old woman who is quite used to doing physical heavy work on my own, so this was no problem at all. It is heavier than the other canopies out there.
