Description

The Combi Coccoro is lightweight and compact, allowing it to fit perfectly in small vehicles. The compact design also accommodates three car seats across the rear seating of most vehicles. The Coccoro comes equipped with Tru-Safe® Side Impact Protection with deep side walls and a layer of energy-absorbing foam to distribute crash forces away from your child's head, neck and spine. A tether connector strap allows for rear-facing tethering, stabilizing the car seat in the event of a collision. The Coccoro offers a five-point harness with a color indicator to ensure a secure buckle, four harness heights, front harness adjuster, built-in lock-offs and premium push-button LATCH connectors for safety and convenience. An easy-to-remove and washable cover, harness pads, and an infant insert keep children comfortable. The Coccoro accommodates children rear-facing from 3-33 pounds and forward-facing from 1 year and 20 pounds to 40 pounds, up to 40 inches.

We got this seat hoping for a very small airplane friendly option that could handle a preemie and still work well for a few years until our child would be old enough to use the Ridesafer harness system. It's certainly small, but it's so narrow in the actual seat space that our 16 month old couldn't fit without her shoulders being scrunched, and she's small, only in the 20th percentile. Additionally, the frame was styrofoam with a plastic shell underneath, and on researching further other reviewers complained of it disintegrating within one or two years of use. The final issue was that the harness and padding combined to force her shoulders down much more than in her other car seat. Yes, we know how to buckle her in safely. An annoyance with the buckle is that you have to slot the two metal "teeth" together before inserting them into the waist buckle. You can't put one half in and then the other. We currently have the Graco contender 65, and like it very much aside from its height when flying.

Good little car seat for families on the go

We used this car seat for over two years, until our daughter grew out of it at age three and a half. It's particularly nice because it will click into a City Mini/Baby Jogger car seat holder. For extra security we would clip a belt around the seat and adapter. Really nice to have a car seat that you could lift out of the car into a stroller than accommodated a larger child than an infant. It's also fairly compact and light, which makes it good for travelling.

Perfect convertible car seat for small cars!

Absolutely LOVE this car seat. We have two very small cars and this worked perfectly. Very light. Easy to install. A friend borrowed mine when they had to travel by plane because it’s so much lighter and more compact than so many other convertible seats. One of ours expired by the time our son was born, so I bought another to replace it. I’ve heard complaints about it’s weight and height limits compared to other brands... but our kiddos have always been on the smaller size so they were able to use this seat until they were four. It is pricey, but I waited until it went on sale, had a discount from trading in our expired seat, and had a gift card.

Narrow enough for 3 across

The car seat fits securely in the car. It is narrow enough to allow room for 2 booster seats. This is great. All the kids are safe and we didn't need to buy a 3rd row vehicle. The buckle is a little tricky to get used to. I'm not sure if the child will be able to buckle in without help as he gets older. We also looked at the Diono. This isn't as sturdy as the Diono, but the Diono is so long/tall that we adults couldn't fit in the front seats with it rear facing. The Combi works great for us.

Recently purchased this carseat for my 9 month old. Although he still could fit his infant carseat, he wasn't comfortable and car rides would be a nightmare. Since installing this carseat (which took approximately 30 minutes) he enjoys car rides and surprisingly it's not as bulky as his infant car seat and is much more comfortable with the infant insert. It's much more plush and comfortable. He fits perfect and it fit perfectly in my vehicle rearfacing. I have a very small crossover with very few leg room in the back which is why I opted for this carseat. It definitely is a space saver! I know several people have left reviews that indicated how difficult instillation was. I didn't find it so horrible since I watched plenty of videos and read the manual in it's entirety. I suppose the horizontal reference line and the tether anchorage system could be a learning curve since most are used to the balancing bubble and just a more straightforward car seat installation. I would definitely recommend reading the manual for setup. Other than that, I have thoroughly enjoyed this car seat and my baby has loved it just as much. Which is most important.

Very small and lightweight. In the end, that made it feel cheap and I worried about the safety. I couldn’t get the latch install to work in my car so I returned.

Install Difficult

We bought this for our very compact 2012 Toyota Yaris- we read the instruction manual several times and the instructions are not super clear. We then watched several youtube videos to clarify... still not clear. We tried to install it and it seemed unstable (the base is very rounded, which didn't help). So I took it to an install guy, and he installed it for me. He put it in the back center seat- but unfortunately in a yaris the seatbelt blocks access from the right side of the vehicle (the side you would typically load/unload an infant from. He also said he doesn't recommend seats that are so tricky to install because it's easy to install them incorrectly. Returned it!

Very happy with this seat! Combined this seat with two Diono Radian RXTs to fit three across in my Honda Civic. The seat is nice looking and has a good amount of padding. Easy to install and adjust. Very slim! Love the licorice color we bought!
