This gift held the attention of a 9 year old for about 5 minutes. The "spin" happens because there are some pieces that are heavier than others. It doesn't "spin" though, it's more of a tilt and you have constantly move it back to its vertical position.

This was a perfect game for my 3 young kids. My 7 year old has mastered the traditional connect 4 game and would always “beat” my 5 year old daughter. This evens the playing field so that even my 3 year old can play and win. By making it a mix of strategy and luck- the kids love playing together again and the younger ones enjoy actually getting a chance to win against their older brother. The pieces are a tad tricky to snap in for little fingers- but we compensate for that by having them point to where they want you to and big brother snaps them in so they can spin. Highly recommend!

I would recommend this version of connect 4. My kids are in their teens, so I wasn’t really sure if they’d be into it. However, to my surprise, they really liked it. They thought the new design was “pretty cool”.
