Poor quality product

I’m not sure how this product managed to make it to shelves, it doesn’t have the capacity to project the drawing as advertised and is essentially useless as a projector. We were gifted this item this Christmas and sadly my son was disappointed when his gift was a complete dud. Had it been properly tested for market Crayola would have known it wasn’t fit for sale.

We are sorry to hear your son has been disappointed with his Picture Projector present, Lesleigh. Surely this is not the experience we have intended, and we are glad you have brought this to our attention. If you could please contact us at Crayola.com/support, we would like to learn more about how we may further improve on this product. Hoping to get your little artist back to creating soon.

My Grandson, 3,000 miles away called me to thank me. He was so excited! He enjoyed creating his own pictures and displaying them on the ceiling, then doing it again creating a different picture.

My 2.5 year old loves this! We discovered that playing with it in his tent works best. It’s a simple toy that has many possibilities. We make shadow puppets over a simple landscape background and like to see our drawings projected onto ourselves. I think it’s a great toy for the money. We did not have any trouble getting the marker off his hands with soap and water.

It is so great to hear that your little one loves playing with his Picture Projector! What a great idea to take it into his tent and project the images on the walls. We are sure that he is having a blast coloring and then seeing his artwork come to life. Wishing you all the best for a colorful future!

Not sure why these are getting some bad reviews, I just got them for my 4 & 8 year old nieces and I think they are going to love them if I ever stop doodling on them long enough to share. If you decide to get one, Target seems have the best. For very easy cleaning the marker for a new drawing I've used damp Expo dry erasers, wet naps, baby wipes or just damp tissue.. I dunno, whatever the cool kids are into these days, Don't forget 3 AA batteries and wherever your tiny Phillip's elusive screwdriver kit that is in hiding, it uses the tiny ones so you'll probably need this. If you or your kid want to write their name or a cute message, the reflection on the wall does turn out backwards. We might stick to drawing cute stars and hearts for awhile. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MAGICAL.. grab a pack of washable rainbow crayola whiteboard markers. This toy only comes with 3 mini washables. It's like watching all of the magic drain from your cherub's precious face when you drag them to Outback Steakhouse where they are are given a super happy colorful kangaroo activity menu book and a box of 3 lame crayons that can't even be shared with siblings because every box has red, yellow, and green. Perhaps blue, I forgot, Really, do you want to eat a blue Kangaroo? A yellow and green spotted Wallaby? I like the food but I don't color and I'm an adult and honestly could bring my own crayons but I have enough junk in my purse. Anyway, point being, I recommend this light up toy from Crayola. I have one for an 8 year old and one for a 4 year old, will be great for winding down at night, giving the tablets a break and showing off their creativity. Amazing to see the artistic progression of children and watch them learn to spell out their names and other words. Oh, and of course, one day learning to write a very colorful, strongly worded, and perhaps even illuminated letter to the CEO of Outback Steakhouse. Also, in case you are wondering, I really would recommend this to a friend. The only reason I subtracted starts for value is that I felt like it could have included more than 3 miniature markers. Crayola does make a really pretty washable full size set that works on this projector, though. ;) Also trying to find some supplies to clean it without scratching it up, the wipes work great, the super soft Expo white board erasers when damp are great. Fun project for anyone crafty!

My son loves this gift from “Santa “. As a parent as seeing that it’s a Crayola product i didn’t think we would have this issue, soap and water does not remove the marker off his hands !!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. While we are glad that your son enjoys creating with his Picture Projector, we are sorry to learn that it has been difficult to remove the marker from his skin. Although Crayola washable products are water-based and designed to wash from skin and nearly all children's clothing, the dyes and pigments included in Crayola washable products react differently to various skin types, depending on a person's body chemistry. Normally, Crayola washable products can be removed from the skin by washing with soap and water. If you are unsuccessful with soap and water, try using baby wipes, baby oil or make-up remover. Since Crayola washable products are water-based, you may find that keeping the area moist with water will help to lift the stain. Please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA for further assistance. Have a colorful day!

wet erase markers for projector

Bought this for my grandchildren. I too found the projection somewhat faint and needed to hold projector close to wall. Better in a very dark room. The instructions say to only use the wet erase markers that come with the projector, but I am unable to find these markers except with the projector. How will I be able to replace them when needed?

Thanks for sharing your review with us! The markers included with the Picture Projector can be refilled with the Ultra Clean Washable Bold Markers, which are also found on Crayola.com. If you would like further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Have a colorful day!
