A: Make the Plaster & Fill the Mold: Step 1: Put on the gloves and cover your nose and mouth with the mask provided — keep them on while handling the plaster mix. Step 2: Carefully cut open the plaster bag and slowly empty it into a medium-to-large-sized mixing bowl from home. Step 3: Measure 1/2 cup of room temperature water — make sure it isn’t too hot or cold, so the plaster sets correctly. Gradually pour the water into the plaster, using the mixing stick to stir thoroughly as you pour. If the mixture feels too dry after adding the water, drizzle in a bit more. • HELPFUL HINT: The mixture should have the consistency of cake batter — it shouldn’t be clumpy or too runny! Step 4: Once your plaster reaches the consistency of cake batter, pour it into the turtle stepping stone mold! Then, gently wiggle the mold to make sure the mixture evenly fills the frame. Step 5: Carefully pick up the mold and gently tap it onto your workspace to smooth out the plaster and remove any air bubbles. Then, let it dry for at least 8-12 hours. Step 6: After 8-12 hours, carefully flip the mold upside down and gently push the bottom with your thumbs to release your turtle! • HELPFUL HINT: Make sure your stone is completely dry before removing it from the mold — if it’s still a bit wet when you try to release it, the turtle will crack.
