I think a problem that some folks MAY be having with temp control (too hot) and lid breaking is that you cannot cook in this pot with the lid LOCKED. I just bought this crockpot to replace the one I had used for 15 years. I love the rubber seal on the cover, and the option to lock the cover down when transporting this to a potluck. High, low and warm functions all work as I expect.
