I just went to use my crockpot for the first time. Never thought to test a brand new one, as I have never had an issue with one in the past. Filled it up with raw meat and veggies, plugged it in to start cooking... nothing. No power, nothing. I have power to the outlet, but no power registers on the display and nothing happens when you press select button. Worthless, I have never had any kitchen appliance not work even once. Now I have raw food and nothing to cook it in!

Bought this a while back and now just getting a chance to use it for the first time. Used it to make chicken noodle soup and cannot get the smell out of the rubber on the lid. Tried washing with multiple things. Even tried to soak it in baking soda and vinegar. Will not get the smell out of it.
1 reply from Consumer Care Team team - 1 year ago
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are extremely sorry to hear about the problem with the smell remaining on the lid. Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience this has caused you. To get rid of the smell from the lid, please try the following: Step 1 Fill a basin with undiluted distilled white vinegar until the basin has around 3 inches of vinegar in it. Add 1 tablespoon mild detergent. Swish the two substances around with a spoon until you have some soapy bubbles. Step 2 Place the lid of the slow cooker into the mixture so that the rubber seal is face down and completely immersed in the vinegar and soap solution. Allow it to soak for at least one hour, but ideally two. Step 3 Rinse off the vinegar and soap with cold water. The smell will be completely gone. Pat dry with a clean towel. We hope this information helps. If you need further assistance, kindly give us a call at 1-800-323-9519 and we will get you all taken care of. For your convenience, we are available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, EST. Thank you and please stay safe!

porcelain portion impossible to remove to empty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used a crockpot for many years, happily. Mine had burned out and I received the Crockpot Cook and Carry Slow Cooker for Christmas. Previous models had handles on the porcelain portion so you could easily remove it when the food was cooked. I used it for the first time last evening and when I tried to lift out the porcelain, there were no handles and I could not lift it from the lip. I tried emptying it using the handles on the base and the porcelain portion fell out and shattered on the floor. I plan to contact customer service to see what can be done about this unfortunate experience.

Cooks too fast

I had an old round 6qt that the crock cracked. The price to replace the crock was the same as this one new. Wish I had replaced the crock for the old one, but I got rid of the base and lid before I found the issues with this one. I used to put a roast with vegies in it in the morning on low and when I got home 10-12 hrs. later, super was ready. Nearly impossible to overcook items, which was what used to be advertised. With this one, I can put the same meal in and it's done in about 3-4 hrs. and getting dry. Virtually impossible to put a meal in, leave for the day and have something decent. My particular one does have an issue that the high and low are reversed, so that didn't help, but there really doesn't seem to be enough difference to make change the cooking time by at least 6 hrs. Last roast I made, I went back to putting it in the oven. It was in there about 6 hrs. at 220 and came out great. I'm thinking low is around 300. NOT what I would call slow. The sealed lid is very nice for transporting, the finish on the crock is excellent (easy cleanup), and I could really love this (5 stars) if it just wasn't so darn hot. We would likely use it more if it were truly a SLOW COOKER. I will recommend with reservations and qualifications.

I don't use the crock pot often do it have had for over 1 year and only used 4 times. Cooked a roast and potatoes and started smelling a food burn smell...after eating took crock out and set on towel for food to cool off to move into another container and refrigerate...i saw food liquid stained on bottom of the heater portion but did not think about it much but when I want to check on the coolness of the food in the crock I noticed the towel was wet and was the juice from the roast I examined further and found a crack along the bottom side up the side abount an inch. 4 uses and broke. I am very disappointed and will not buy crock-pot brand again...i also see another complaint of the same issue within the same usage amount time.

Hi! Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear that your stoneware cracked. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning. We will be more than happy to find replacement stoneware for you. For further assistance, please contact us through email, phone or the contact form available on our website. Our product specialists will be more than happy to help you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A nice simple slow cooker that does what it’s supposed to. i just started using it and made pulled pork which came out excellent. The locking lid is perfect for transporting cooked food with no spills in the car. Then just put it on the table at the party and plug it in to keep the food warm.

So I decided to try it again and it took 2 days to cook vegetable soup. I'm so mad that I didn't keep the box because I would return it in a heartbeat. I am so disappointed in this product. Had one fir years and it worked great

I bought my crockpot almost 7 years ago and recently I noticed a crack down the side (on one of the ends), it has started leaking when it's cooking and when it's soaking. I was hoping that I could just buy a replacement insert and wouldn't need to buy a new crockpot.

Larger replacement

After probably 15 years, i noticed the insert for my previous slow cooker had developed many cracks inside the bowl. I decided they might be a food poisoning hazard so I replaced it with a larger, 6 quart unit. I used it this past weekend to cook a pork butt with cilantro lime sauce. The larger unit cooked just as well as the older unit plus the extra room provided a better cooking result. I'm happy with my new Crock Pot!
