Q: Can this be programmed to come on in the middle of the night?

submitted by indiograndpa - 25 days ago
  • A: Hello there indiograndpa! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! The unit you have does not have the time-select feature, it cannot be programmed to start cooking at a later time. It however has the Auto-Warm Setting which automatically shifts the unit to to Warm setting to keep food at the perfect serving temperature after the cooking cycle. In case of further questions, we encourage you to please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Q: Can you cook with the cover fastned down on to the lid?

submitted by Jerry - 7 months ago
  • A: Hello there Jerry! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! The lid should not be locked while you are cooking. Locking the lid while cooking will maintain the steam pressure which can affect the slow cooker’s performance. The locking lid is only for traveling with the slow cooker to secure its contents. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Thank you!

submitted by Donna - 9 months ago
  • A: Hello! Thank you for taking your time to ask this question. We will be happy to answer it! When it comes to cooking the beans, everything depends on the recipe, however, we recommend cooking them on Low for 8-10 hours or High 4-6 hours. If you have any more questions or require further assistance with the recipe, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. Q: What are the three setting of this crock pot? Can it be used to keep foods warm that have already been cooked by another method?

submitted by Sheri A - 9 months ago
  • A: Hello, this is from CrockPot Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! On your slow cooker, both High and Low stabilize at the same temperature 209°F; it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. On High, it takes approximately 3-4 hours, whereas, on Low, it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point.  On the Warm setting, your slow cooker will achieve 165-175°F. Please remember that these are all approximate temperatures and they can vary depending on what you are cooking.  The unit can also boil on High and Low. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. You may have to adjust your cook times accordingly, especially if you are using older slow cooker recipes, or adapting regular recipes for slow cooker use. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning Thank you and please stay safe! CrockPot Care

Q: I made Pork and Sauerkraut in the crock pot and it seems that I keep smelling the sauerkraut. I have tried everything to get rid of the smell but it still has a light odor of it

submitted by Pat - 11 months ago
  • A: Hello there Pat! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! Here are some steps to try for you to remove the unpleasant odor: 1. Create a mixture of half water and half distilled vinegar. The amount you make should be enough to fill the Crock-Pot halfway. 2. Turn the Crock-Pot to the highest setting and allow it to cook till it reaches a temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit. This opens the pores and allows the vinegar to remove the smell. 3. Allow the Crock-Pot to cool. 4. Pour out the vinegar mixture. 5. Wash your slow cooker stoneware/ pot with soapy water. I hope this helps. For further assistance, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Mr burnt chili - 29 days ago

We've had this one for a year and have used it 3 times. Some of the coating has come off already, but the most infuriating feature is that when I turn the pot off by pressing the OFF button, it doesn't really turn off and continues to heat. I woke up this morning to a full pot of burnt chili. All lights were off on the panel after I pressed OFF the night before. I left it plugged in, but I assumed it would have actually been off. I'm very saddened.

amboysel - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
DON’T BUY! I love my crock pots and have used them many years. I bought this one because I wanted one with a count down timer and it was just time for a new one. I normally read reviews, but when I had bought this in January, I didn’t see any reviews about the inside peeling. I’ve used this particular crock pot 3-4 times since I bought it for low 6-7 hour slow cooks. I noticed the inside has peeled off. You don’t want that coating in your food. We don’t use metal utensils, only wood. I then came back here to read reviews and it looks like many many other people are experiencing the same thing. I reached out to crock pot, looking for a replacement if maybe some were affected and not all OR credit towards a different cooker. The best they can do is send me another inside ceramic dish. They said it’s coated and I’ll have the same issue. I guess I’m out $$ and a crock pot. On the hunt for a new one now!

Nonstick coating is bubbling and peeling

1 out of 5 stars
Elsie Scott - 4 months ago
originally posted on crock-pot.com
I've always purchased CrockPot brand cookers but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next one. I assumed, foolishly, that a ceramic pot was glazed inside, not covered with Teflon or whatever coating is used. I was disgusted to see last night that the coating on the bottom of the pot is bubbling and peeling. I can rip pieces off with my fingernails. I don't need "forever chemicals" in my food. Furthermore, this pot is less than a year old and has never been misused. It's obiviously a production flaw.
1 reply from Consumer Care team - 4 months ago
Hello! Thank you for taking your time to post this review - we sincerely apologize for this situation! This should not have happened - here at CrockPot, we make our products with the highest quality materials and we expect them to last. The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA. The FDA specifies allowable amounts of lead, cadmium and other substances. All the glazes that we use meet or exceed FDA requirements. We would like to have a chance to resolve this issue as efficiently as possible, that is why we strongly encourage you to reach out to us directly via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Our product experts will be happy to assist you! We apologize once again! Thank you! CrockPot® Consumer Care

Bad quality-Coating peeling

Got this as a Christmas gift from my husband. Was so excited. We have probably used this 4 times since then. Coating is peeling. This was to replace the previous 6 QT Crock-pot we had that did not have the Non-stick coating and we had for years. Quite frankly I wish we would have stuck with the previous one if this is what it means to have non-stick.

I loved this crockpot. I loved the nonstick surface. I love that it goes to warm when the timer is done. I love the locking lid. I got this to replace an older generation model. What I didn't love was how thin the nonstick coating is. I was careful with my immersion blender, but I guess I shouldn't have used it with the crockpot. I'm very disappointed with the thin surface. it is chipped and peeling. I would have gone with the traditional crock had I known. crockpots need to stand up to things like immersion blenders. Go with the traditional crock instead of the nonstick.

Very disappointed in this slow cooker! I’ve had it for 7 months and it has a huge crack on the bottom. My last crockpot lasted 8 years, and my mother has had one for a decade. This is such poor quality! I’ll be buying a different brand from now on.
