Q: is this product lead free?
A: This does not answer the question! Does it have lead in cooking serfaces or not. Does it meet CA Prop 65 standards?
submitted byCruzin - 4 months agoA: Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. I will be more than happy to assist you with your inquiry about the lead content in CrockPot slow cookers. We regularly employ rigorous third-party testing to ensure that our slow cookers meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to lead content. Consumers should feel confident that our products are safe to use. The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar, and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze, and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA. I hope this has helped and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further queries. Please contact us directly via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Thank you and please stay safe! Q: The stoneware fits VERY loosely in the base and can move over 1" side to side and can also move towards the handles. I have owned other slow cookers and have never seen the stoneware move laterally when it is in the base. Are they all made this way?
A: Thank you for your question. It is okay for the stoneware to be loose. The base unit has a heating element on the sides and on the bottom. If you feel that the stoneware is too loose, please reach out to us at 1-800-323-9519. We are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm EST.

Q: Does the outside of the unit get hot?
A: Hello! Due to the proximity between the heating element and the exterior of our slow cookers, it is normal for them to get quite hot on the outside. The heating element wraps around the sides of the unit. Therefore, on both the outside of the unit and in the product's instruction manual we recommend using a hot pad if you need to touch the unit during cooking. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our official CrockPot "Contact Us" website or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you!
