Out of the bag, this “cheese” is just awful. It’s hard, dry and has a very plastic-like texture. If you melt it, on the other hand, it’s okay. As long as you’re very careful to not overcook. It can burn very easily. I’ve tried a lot of dairy free mozzarella substitutes and this was not very good in comparison.

If you absolutely have to have a cheese substitute its alright. Consistency melted is a little too creamy but it melts fine just still has the stringy shredded look to it. I used it to make a gluten free dairy free pizza. It’s still gonna be a no from me as the ingredients are questionable. Natural flavors, inflammatory safflower oil, chickpea protein thats not organic and yeast extract which is another form of MSG. Yes it’s dairy free but the other ingredients are terrible just to call it plant based.

I can't believe this is rated so high. I know everyone says it's better melted, and maybe that's where I've gone wrong, but this truly tastes horrible right out of the bag. The texture is hard. It tastes like dirty feet. It was the first dairy free cheese I've tried since going dairy free for breastfeeding, and it has made me reluctant and scared to try any others.

This is pretty good for a cheese substitute. I tried the cheddar cutting board style and had to throw away the whole meal. It had such a strong disgusting taste. I've been getting vegan pizza at a couple places and they use this mozzarella so I decided to try this and make crescent roll meatball roll ups and it was delicious. A little goes a long way because it's oilier than regular cheese - just a sprinkle will do. I've even had it on nachos and it worked great. I think the taste was mild and much better than the cheddar.
