Q: Are the waffle plates removable for easy cleaning?

A: Thank you for your interest in the Dash Flip Belgian Waffle Maker! The plate are not removable, we reccomened simply wiping the cooking surface clean with a damp, soapy rag. The non-electric pieces that are removable, like the drip tray, are also dishwasher safe.

I’ve had this for 5 months now and with regular use it still works great. I don’t spray the surface with anything and I’m just careful to pull the waffle out without scratching the surface. The waffles always comes out in one piece and there’s not really any cleaning needed other than a light wipe down with a damp cloth. I think as long as you’re careful not to damage the non-stick surface by scratching or over washing, it will continue to be great! Also, as other people mentioned, the indicator lights are not very reliable but for me it’s very easy to tell when it’s done. The waffle will steam heavily when it’s being cooked. Once the steam slows, that’s usually when it’s done, at least in my case. My kids always want Belgium waffles and this is a super easy way to make them! It stores well too.

Easy to use, but lack of temperature control means it is very batter specific. Doesn’t cook thicker batters adequately. Needs a thinner/lighter batter to be effective

It is very light in weight and heats up fast. The diameter is smaller than my previous waffle iron. So rather than splitting a large waffle it makes more of a personal size. I like the portion size. The indicator light is not very bright but it is helpful.
