Of all things I got mine on sale! 20% discount and it positively *screams* 1962! Not the bad stuff and not the mid- sixties but that magic moment when it looked like the future was nothing but bright and getting better. It was over way too soon but all the "modern" styles suddenly made sense and this clock is spot on for that period. #1 it's easy to read in all light conditions and from as far as two rooms away. I got it to be able to check the time from the bathroom doorway by looking through a hallway back into the living room and it came through famously! The hands stand out in stark contrast to the black face and there is no "glitter" or light-scattering as with one similar but less well-designed example. #2 Nothing is out of place. The overall flat dull black finish and flat clear cover are absolute mandatory effects for this unique period and they did not miss a thing. The hands land on the markers just right and the time at a glance is instant with no guessing. Someone did their homework on this design and I got my money's worth and more. Thank You Target. When I look at it I actually get nostalgic for a great year. And you can't fake that.
