This espresso maker is perfect! It's easy to clean and use, and the espresso tastes great. Other reviews have taken stars off for the size of this machine's cup reservoir but please keep in mind you should be using espresso cups or something roughly shot glass sized to get your espresso, and then pouring that into your serving cup with milk, ice, etc. Also note that another review for this product that said this machine makes "weak coffee" most likely filled up a whole cup (8 ounces or more) using the machine, when it's intended for 2 shots maximum (4-6 oz), so the additional water most likely diluted the product. Just read the manual and you will be fine!
I LOVE this thing. I used to be a barista and I missed just having espresso and steamed milk, especially in the midst of the Covid quarantine. Now, this little machine can't hang with the giant commercial grade espresso machines and milk steamers of your standard coffee shop, but you're not pumping out 107 soy milk lattes a day to the public so you don't need that.
You don't have to be an expert to use it, the guide is very helpful. My only sadness was that it doesn't come with a milk frother or espresso shot glasses (it doesn't SAY that it does, which is why I didn't take any stars off).
It's incredibly quick and easy to make, my fiance who has had no experience with making espresso is now making his own delicious cappuccinos.
Just buy it already, you know you want to!
- ANY glass shot glass will do, and go for a 12 oz milk pitcher. It looks hilariously small if you're used to the large ones, but it's the perfect size for the mug you have at home and the perfect height for the frothing wand.
- Don't overfill with espresso - you'll have to pack it too tight and it'll take forever for water to go through and it'll just taste burnt
- Clean everything right after you use it - once the espresso dries, it's harder to clean out
- After you clean everything don't forget to run the steam wand for a second to clear the line, otherwise you will end up with nasty dried milk bits when you start steaming next time
This machine is so poorly designed it’s insane. If you’re not willing to buy extremely small espresso cups then it’s not worth it. Also it doesn’t really make espresso, it just makes a small cup of weak coffee. It shakes violently so you probably have to hold your cup in place. To place the espresso grounds in you have to stick your head under the machine to see where to place it. Wish I could give it 0 stars
Decent machine and worth the price. A friend had an older machine of a similar model. Had to get a replacement for my first order since they've made more parts plastic compared to the older ones - the nipple and protection ring on the bottom of the water tank receptacle broke off in shipping. The replacement machine works fine.
