You will change 6,000-9,000 diapers before your child is potty trained! We found a much simpler way to dispose of them! Dekor Hands-Free Diaper Pails are designed to make this unpleasant chore as easy as possible for parents.
Unlike other disposal systems where you have to bend over, operate a lid, or even shove a soiled diaper inside the diaper pail, Dekor Diaper Pails are 100% hands-free. After a diaper change, you are likely to have baby in one arm and the soiled diaper in the other. No one has a third hand to operate the diaper pail. Just STEP on the foot pedal, DROP the soiled diaper through the trap door, and you’re DONE!
Unlike the competition, Dekor is made with ABS closed-cell plastic that doesn’t absorb odors over time, and it’s safe to clean with bleach or other household cleaners, unlike metal pails that can only be cleaned with a dry cloth, and can rust.
Dekor refills are one continuous liner so you can empty as often as you want and they hold more diapers per refill than the competition!

Q: Does this require specialty liners? Or can any trash bag be used?

A: I use this for cloth diapers and so I use a wetbag in this; no special bag required which is the #1 reason I chose this pail.

Q: The description contradicts itself saying "Comes complete with one liner and lasts for up to 580 newborn diapers." but also "Not Included: Liner". So does this or does this not come with a liner?

A: Dékor is perfect for any size diaper, including night-time and pull-up type diapers, especially the Dékor Plus and Classic with the larger Trap Door openings. For non-disposable items, we would recommend our Dékor Plus with our Cloth Diaper Liner.

Q: Several replies to lower rated reviews mention frequently washing the diaper pail. What is the recommended frequency?

A: Unlike steel diaper pails that can only be cleaned with a dry cloth or they'll rust, we recommend cleaning your Dékor with a non-abrasive liquid household cleaner. Bleach can also be used if needed. You can clean it as often as needed. It really depends on how many children you have in diapers, whether you're home with your kids all day and using it all day, or if they're at daycare and you only use the diaper pail at night and on weekends.

A: Hello - All of our pails come with a full liner pre-installed from the manufacturing plant and you would would only need to purchase additional refill liners once you see the end of liner marking on the original liner.

A: The Dekor is made from ABS-Plastic. Unlike metal pails that can only be cleaned with a dry cloth, ABS-Plastic is a closed-cell plastic which does not absorb odors and can be cleaned with household cleaners, including bleach without fading or discoloring the pail.

A: Dekor does not make a pail specifically for adult diapers. We have had several reviews about people using the Plus pail for adult diapers, but it is primarily designed for children's diapers. We have been using this for around 3-4 weeks and I've loved it! there was a learning curve, I was pressing the diapers into the slot, but then I would smell all the diapers beneath, and that was stinky haha! Once I realized you ACTUALLY CAN just drop it down on the flap and it goes straight in, everything changed. I love that with the disposable bags, you can cut them whenever you want and have a fresh continuous bag. It's great!

We've tried different popular brands of diaper pail and Dekor has become our favorite. The main reason is because it can hold quite a lot more diapers between refills. It also has a great minimalistic look that matches with most aesthetics. It's super straight forward to put together and operate. We are overall very happy with this product !

Smells horrible! We’ve have a Diaper Genie, Ubbi, and now this. I think the diaper genie holds in smell the best BUT it’s such a pain to change out the bags and always left little pieces of torn plastic on my babys floor. And I feel the refills don’t last long. The Ubbi was awesome but since you can use your own bag, they were impossible to pull out of the container and sometime rip. And after about a year it started to smell so badly. No matter what I did to clean it or scent it nothing worked and it stunk up my littles room. Now with this new one, I read a bunch of reviews and loved the price point so I thought we’d give it a try. After ONLY 24 HOURS my sons room smells worse than ever! And it only has about 6 diapers in it. Sadly we will be returning and trying a different brand. (Side note, the opening trap door is really cool but unfortunately my Lo figured out the lock in the first day)

The Dekor Diaper Pail utilizes a continuous liner system which allows you to take out one diabolical diaper or a buttload of diapers without wasting a whole bag. We do recommend emptying the pail more regularly if your little one is on solids and you are noticing odors escaping the pail.

Smells horrible. I should have listened to the reviews.. but I went ahead and bought. I should of spend 10$ on a regular trash can with lid . Odor gets stuck to daiper pail. I have to leave it out to air out even then it smells. ALSO U HAVE TO CLOSE THE LID EVERYTIME STOPS WORKING AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS

Thank you for your feedback. The Dekor Pail does have three odor seal agents. There is a rubber seal on the inside of the lid, a rubber seal on the inside of the insert, and finally the fresh powder scent on the refills. With the Lid not currently closing properly that could prevent the smell from being closed in. We would recommend checking the cartridge to make sure it is installed with the lip down. Sometimes if it is installed upside down that can lead the lid to not close. If you need any additional assistance, please reach out to our Customer Service team support@dekor.zendesk.com.

I wonder if the 5 star reviewers are either nose blind or are paid reviewers. This thing stinks. I change the bags at least twice per week, have tried sprinkling baking soda in the bag, and using the Arm & Hammer odor neutralizers but nothing works. I can smell pee pee and poopy diapers before crossing the threshold into the nursery. I added this diaper pail to my registry based on reviews from other parents online but now I feel like I’ve been scammed. My cat’s Litter Genie works much better.

The lid always stays up and has to be closed manually, after 2 months of daily use it doesn't close all the way anymore. It didn't bother me at first but after 2 months, it has annoyed me more and more as time passes. Also, I was changingthe bag and all of a sudden this ring appered, I don't even know where it goes. Sometimes when I change the bag, it catches on something and the bag rips.

The functionality is great but you might as well use a regular trash can than waste your money. It makes the entire upstairs of my house smell horrendous…Isn’t the point of a diaper pail to help with the smell?

The Dekor Diaper Pail does have multiple features in place to conceal odors, however as your little one moves to solids we do recommend cleaning your pail and emptying the pail more regularly. The Dekor Diaper Pail does offer a continuous liner so you are able to empty the pail without wasting an entire bag after a poopy diaper.

Cant use for dirty diapers, whole bathroom is horribly smelly due to it every time we put dirty diaper. Otherwise Its a clean way to use for wet diapers.

The Dekor Diaper Pail does offer a continuous liner so you are able to cut the refill off at any time for changing. If your little one is currently on solids we would recommend emptying the pail more regularly as those diapers will have a more aggressive odor than newborn diapers.

I have had four children over the last night years and have always used the more popular brand of diaper pail. When my last pail finally broke, I thought I’d try something new. This Dekor brand was a complete mistake! Heaven forbid even a hint of your child’s bowel movement should end up in this thing! It reeks no matter how frequently you take out its contents. The plastic retains and magnifies all odors, despite claims in its description that it will not. Save your money and your home and buy another brand. This Dekor pail is trash and that is exactly where it’s going.

As a first time parent, I really underestimated the amount of dirty diapers a tiny baby makes! I caved in for a diaper pail at about 2 months and I love this one! No smells until I’m emptying it out or finally reaching the top. I love that it’s hands free and it’s holding so many diapers without an odor! It came with a free refill which is convenient and easy to do. It doesn’t have the markings as listed to start/end a bag but that’s better! It lets me just tear where I need to whether I have a big or small bagful. I’m only worried about having to find the refills in store somewhere since I like them more than I thought I would…
