My kids will absolutely not be reading this nonsense. More reasons not to shop at target

Geared to groom children and push them towards puberty blockers and life changing medical procedures when they’re literally children who don’t know what they want. Absolutely disgusted that this is in Target and that garbage like this is being given to children in schools. (In response to “Ally”’s review - I would never kick my child out of the house. I would allow my children to go through a phase of liking traditionally boy or girl stuff and if they decided they’re a goldfish I would help them get the psychiatric help they may need. This is a slightly embellished joke for those who may not get it but also a reality of being a parent in this joke of a society right now.)

This book is misleading about the medical realities of being trans. It isn’t whimsical. The reality is it will lead you down a path of lifelong medical problems. That’s something this child author fails to realize.

Why is this book being advertised to children ages 9-12 years old. Target, stop pushing this ideology towards children- didn’t you already learn your lesson earlier this year?!

Amazing book. The other reviews are just those who would kick their child out of the house vs just accepting who they are.

Boring, Confusing, trash

Absolutely beautifully written! So informative to help those understand have empathy and respect for others. Totally recommend. Also recommended it to others along with my children so they can understand what others go through. Very touching total 10 out of 10.

Awesome. Knowing many transgender people who grew up in the 80s and 90s with no support, this book is a much needed boon to help young people who are transgender understand the feelings their going through.

Loved that this book was available at our local target, loved the message, loved the inclusivity! My son is transgender and normally if we are going to buy him a book like this, we have to order it. It was wonderful to just be able to pick this up at target and buy it for him! It made him so happy!

This book is total crap.

We have read this story several times and each time, feels like we learn something new. Not only do my children love this book but so do my husband and my parents. I love the illustrations too. This book makes you laugh as much as it makes you tear up a bit. What a talented writer. DEFINITELY recommend!

Dotson is a beautiful, easy to read book written from a child’s point of reference. It’s written from the heart of a child about his lived truth. After I read it I passed it on to my transgender daughter.

This was a great book, the writing is well done and the illustrations are fun. This is the first book that my child has wanted read over multiple bedtimes without getting bored of the story. Although a children's book, it is informative to inquisitive adults as well.

Not appropriate to be in kids section.

If I could give this 100 stars I would. My 10 year old saw this book and lit up with the biggest smile. “Mom this sounds like me!” Finally she felt seen and represented, and she’s not even transgender. Every single person should read this book and stop letting fear lead to hate. This book isn’t going to turn your child transgender, that’s not how it works. Promise.

Despicable attempt to further confuse children about their God given gender, that cannot and will never change. No amount of surgery, hormones or culture acceptance will change who God and biology created you to be. Either a boy or a girl. From conception. You are wonderfully and beautifully made, in God’s image. Repent of your sin and find freedom in the grace and salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ. ❤️

Wonderful book for kids! I bought this for my 11-year old trans son and we read it together. It was emotional reading for both of us because Grayson’s experiences so closely mirrored our own.

Does NOT belong in the children’s book section at Target- not appropriate in any way. I can’t even bring my kids to Target anymore without concern they’ll see something they shouldn’t.

It's nice to read a happy story about a trans kid. Would recommend.

This story had me hooked and was quite emotional both for good moments and bad ones. The struggles the protagonist faces here are realistic and very true to the reality of growing up and living as a trans person.
