I absolutely Love dove, it's the only soap I use, the only soap I buy, but here lately I've been buying the Original Dove Bar soap (so the box says) and it's been replaced with the Sensitive Skin Bar Soap and this has happened on several occasions maybe within the past year or so! Other than that I have zero complaints!

I have very sensitive skin, and I had to stop using Dove years ago due to the irritation and dryness it would cause. I recently decided to give it another try, and I would have to say I love it!! It makes my skin so smooth and although the smell doesn't last long on me, I still enjoy it for a little while. I'm to chicken to try other scents so I'll just stick to the original. Thank you Dove.

I thought I just got a bad batch but after purchasing from 2 different locations I’m realizing that the soap I’ve used and loved my entire life now has an awful and intolerable chemical smell and leaves my skin dry and irritated. The smell is noticeable in the box but increases significantly after use in water. After searching online I see that this has been going on for at least 4 years but I’m only experiencing it upon my last purchase. Perhaps it’s a distribution lag of some kind and there is no change in the packaging. At any rate, I can no longer use the only soap I’ve ever been comfortable using. Extremely disappointed. Why would you change this formula? Weird. Now to find something I can use that my skin can handle and that doesn’t stink up my entire bathroom. Ugh.

I’ve been using this soap for years and it’s my favorite soap. It smells really fresh & clean, it cleanses well, and doesn’t leave my skin looking or feeling dry & tight. Also, due to the shape of the soap, it doesn’t break in half halfway through the bar. It stays in tact until it’s down to nothing. I highly recommend this soap.

I have been using dove for over 50 years. This last time I bought Dove it smelled horrible! At first I thought something was wrong with the dove bar I bought but after reading other reviews it appears other people have the same problem. So disappointed, after decades of using Dove I'll have to switch to another brand because I can't stand the new smell.

I used this since I was a teen. It’s barely has a scent and is creamy. Suds up well. My mom washed her face with this for 50 years and says it kept her skin looking smooth. She looked good at 90.

I was a loyal consumer of Dove products for a very long time, I purchased the original body bar yesterday and threw it out. The smell was awful and it just didn't seem to clean well. I'm put off on all Dove products now because I'm not sure of the quality I will get like I was before.

I've been using Dove original for a very long time. I threw this one away. It smells like chemicals and doesn't seem to clean. I wont be buying again unless the formula goes back closer to what it used to be.

I'm devastated. I've used Dove's Original Scent bar soap for 30 years. It works the best for my sensitive skin. I'm allergic to almost everything else. But whatever formula or fragrance change they've made has made it unusable. It smells like rotten chemicals and the soap itself doesn't lather or rinse the same. Why the change??

When I was in my 20's (I'm currently 71 years old), my dermatologist recommended cleansing my face with a white bar of Dove soap ... and sticking to it for forever. She was RIGHT. Following cleansing, my skin feels pleasantly refreshing and never itchy or dry or irritated in any way. It's great at moisturizing your skin. Dove is simply THE BEST.

I can only use dove original beauty bar as it's been the only cleansing bar that cleans, smells great, keeps skin soft and doesn't cause irritation. This past month, all of a sudden, the bars are much smaller, less scented and it's causing a lot of burning in sensitive areas.... I've been wondering if something changed. Agree with the other reviews that companies need to stop changing product formulations and ingredients that actually work. I don't know what options I will have if the only one I've used for years continues to cause this issue.

The formula has definitely changed and not for the better. I couldn't understand why I started getting rashes after using this soap. Lo and behold, the ingredients are different than previous versions. My authentic old boxes of Dove White from around 2020 have sodium tallowate and sodium palm kernelate on the label. This version does not and therefore isn't an effective cleanser. The new formula also has a horrible chemical odor that does not smell safe to use. My armpits burn while washing and there's a terrible rash with skin discoloration. As a consumer, I no longer trust this brand because of the callous bait and switch without notifying us of the change. There are safer and more trustworthy options out there.
